MINUTES OF A REGULAR MONTHLY
MEETING HELD IN THE VILLAGE
HALL AT MT.PROSPECT ILLINOIS
BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES ON THE FIFTH DAY OF
MAY A. D. 1$42.
The meeting was called to Oder by President Besander, the roll
being called the following Trustees were found to be presents
Greinke,Haberkamp, LeMay, Wille. Trustees Haas,Mortimer absent.
The minutes of the previous meeting were read, Trustee
Hebrkamp stated that there was an error, the request for lighting
by Mr. Collins the street should have been Thayer instead of Henry . r
and with that correction it was moved by Trustee Haberkamp,
seconded by Trustee Greinke that the minuts be accepted as read.
Motion carried.

It was moved by Trustee Wine, seconded by Trustee Greinke
that the special assessment report be placed on file.
Motion carried.
Trustee, LeMay was appointed to replace Trustee Mortimer as
temporary member of the Finance Committee for the approval
and payment of bills.
It was moved by Trustee °tille, seconded by Trustee Greinke
42 -46 S. Model Buick be purchased as squad oar, the Village
portion of its purchase not to exceed $ 370.00 plus $ 12,00
for extra -spare tire.
Motion carried.

Notion carried.
The matter' of Public Drinking fountain was referred to Trustee
Greinke, as to location and installation.

Trustee LeMay reported interviewing Mr. Ehard, Commissioner
Busse andiPred Busse in regards to additional expenditure of
about $ 50.00 in putting up the necessary sidewalk. Mr. Fhard
stated if the others would go along he wi1 ready in' 30 days.
Mr, Fred Busse refused.The additional expense was for the ne-
cessary proto -lay.
Mr. James Walsh serving as chairman, the Committee on delinquent
taxes submitted a very extensive and complete report. This ela-
borate report in bou"d form included sketches and figures, and
although it did not . pots the m of the individual owners,
a key method was included for its easy deciphering. Mr. Walsh
stated it would be impossible to complete that work in the time
it has been done, without the cooperation of the other members
of the Committee, and not only expressed his sincere thanks to 01,,4
all who have assissted him, but also to Trustee Mortimer who
worked with him until its completion, before getting his medical
orders for temporary retirement. Those who served on the Committee
are Trustees :Haas, Trustee LeMay, Trustee Mortimer, Mr. Dovale,
Mr. Pendleton, and.its chairman Mr. James Walsh. In conclusion
Mr. Pendleton stated that every member gladly contributed his
time and efforts to assist Mr. Walsh, but that Mr. Walsh was to
modest, and deserves the full credit due him for the:•achievement
in engineering this work of art, thereby Trustee Haberkamp made
a motion seconded by Trustee Greinke that a standing vote of
thanks be expressed to Mr. James Walsh for his untyring efforts
in the completion of this work.
It was moved by Trustee McMay seconded by Trustee Wille that the
attached delinquent Tax Resolution be approved:

It was moved by Trustee Greinke, seconded by Trustee Haberkamp
that Mr. Albert L. Roderick C.P.A. be authorized to perform the
yearly audit as per his letter of April 6th, 1942. The cost not
to exceed $ 300.00
It was moved by Trustee LeMay, seconded by Trustee Wille that a
letter be written to Trustee Mortimer expressing regrets of his
illnes, appreciating his fellowship and kind cooperation, and
wishing him speedy recovery.
It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by Trustee
Greinke that a letter be Written to Dr. Wolfarth, acce-
ppting his resignation due to enlistment' in the
States Army, - and an appreciation expressed - for his ser-
vices as President of the Board of Health of Mt. Prospect.
It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded Trustee
LeMay that the appointment of Dr. Wm. F. Granzig by
Prsident Besander as Pres. of Board of Health of Mt.
Prospect be concurred in.

It was moved by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by Trustee
Wille, that the Mt. Prospect State Bank, and the First
National Bank of Chicago continue as depositories for
the funds of Fred G. Wille-Treasurer and Collector of
the Village of Mt. Prospect Illinois.
Motion Carried.
It was Moved by Trustee Greinke, seconded by Trustee
Haberkamp that 50 % on business licenses be granted and
,, $ 1.00 per dog license if purchased in the month of May.

It was moved-,By Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by Trust
LeMay that the bills be approved for payment.
Ayes: Greinke, Haberkamp, LeMay, Wille. Hayes None.
Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before this meeting
it was moved by Trustee Haberkamp, seconded by Trustee Wille
that same be adjourned.
Motion carried.
WHEREAS, the Citizens Committee haS made its
report to the Board of Trustees regarding the delinquent
general taxes of property owners in the Village of
Mount Prospect;
AND WHEREAS, the principal amount of delinquent
taxes as of September 30, 1941, amounts to$ '163.384.1(?,
exclusive of penalties, interest and costs;
AND WHEREAS, there is included in the aforesaid
amount of delinquent taxes, taxes that are due and payable
on income - producing properties in the Village of Mount
Prospect;
AND WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is
obliged to borrow money from time to time to provide
for the payment of its current expenses;
AND WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect would
be in good financial condition if the aforesaid delinquent
taxes were paid;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the President
and Board of Trustees that the Village Attorney be
authorized and directed to co- operate with Thomas J.
Courtney, States Attorney, in taking the necessary
legal proceedings to enforce payment of all delinquent
taxes.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that immediate pro-
ceedings be instituted to have a receiver appointed for
all business and income - producing properties which are
delinquent so that the income from such properties may
be applied to the payment of past due taxes, interest,
penalties and costs.
