MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE
PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD
IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT, FEBRUARY 16, 1960
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 P.M. by President Lams~
Upon roll call, the following trustees answered Present: Airey, roll call
~-- Casterline, Ekren, Gaw and Norris. Absent, Trustee Schlaver.
Trustee Gaw, seconded by Trustee Norris, moved that the minutes
of February 9, 1960 be approved as submitted. The President put the minutes
question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following response: Ayes,
Trustees Airey, Casterltne, Ekren, Gaw and Norris. Absent, Trustee
Schlaver. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Gaw, seconded by Trustee Airey, moved that the bills
for the week of February 16th be approved as follows:

The President put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the
following response: Ayes, Trustees Airey, Casterline, Ekren, Gaw and
Norris. Absent, Trustee Schlaver. Whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
Trustee Norris brought up a letter dated February 9th addressed
to Mr. Appleby from Censoer, Townsend & Associates, engineers, sidewalk on
regarding placement of sidewalk on West Lincoln Avenue, mentioned in W. Lincoln
the minu~es of January 19th. This letter was referred to the Street
Com~ittee for study and recommendation.
Trustee Casterline reported that he had submitted detailed Traffic on
information to Mr. Busse of the Mt. Prospect State Bank regarding the Busse Ave
cost of widening Emerson St. in the area fronting the Bank. Discussion at Bank
about temporary restriction of parking on Emerson and Busse ensued.
A decision will be forthcoming in the near future.
President Lams read the following letter from the Library Board:

We wish to thank you for your continued interest in the future
expansion of the library and appreciate the purchase of the property
~ north of the present building, by the Village.
It is also gratifying to note that the present village board
and the present library board agree that the public will best be served
by keeping the library in its present location, the downtown section of
the village.

Alley vacation AN ORDINANCE VACATING A PUBLIC ALLEY BETWEEN
HENRY ST. AND CENTRAL ROAD IN THE VILLAGE
Trustee Airey, seconded by Trustee Gaw, moved for passage of
Ord. #705. The President put the question, the Clerk called the
roll~ with the following response: Ayes, Trustees Airey, Casterline,
Ekren, Gaw and Norris. Nays, none. Absent, Trustee Schlaver. Wherew
upon the President declared the motion carried.
A group of residents living in Brickman's Subdivision
between Highland Avenue and Foundry Road asked advice of the Board
Highland Ave. regarding grading and' drainage of their lots. Brickman Enterprises
i~provements had written them a letter advising them that if the pi~ch er grade
Brickman of any lot were chan~ed by the homeowner, Brickman would not be
responsible for the consequences. Mr. Cadigan of Consoer, Townsend
advised that nothing could be done until the grading was finished
and the snow was off the ground. He would be willing to check the
engineering at that time.
Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Norris, moved for
adjournment, and the meeting was regularly adjourned at 9:09 P.M.
