HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/07/1943 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING HELD IN THE VILLAGE HALL OF MOUNT PROSPECT BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD 381 OF TRUSTEES ON SEPTEMBER 7, 1943 A.D. The meeting was called to order by the President at 8 :15 P.M. The roll being called the following Trustees were found to be present: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax, Mille. The minutes of the regular meeting of July 6, special meeting of July 15 and regular meeting of August 3, 1943 were read. It was moved by Trustee Haas, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that they be accepted as read. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee 'Wax that the newly appointed Village Clerk, Roy E. Schlemmer, be authorized to sign the minutes of June 1, 15th, mod, 1943 meetings due to the demise of S. W. Burda. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax, and Wille. No Nayes. It was moved by Trustee lax and seconded by Trustee Sills that the Village issue a license for the sum of Fiv*TDollara ($5.00) to the Lake Shore Sugar Company, for the loading of sugar beets, with the understanding they are to remove the loading equipment and clean the street and railroad right -of -way after they are through. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, lax and Wille. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Greinke and seconded by Trustee Wax that the Village cancel the liquor license and refund the cost of same to the Mount Prospect Fire Department. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Mille. No Hayes. It -was moved by Trustee Kirchhoff, seconded by Trustee Greinke that tha lille Coal and Lumber Company be paid Fifteen Cents (.15) per load for weighing garbage. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Wills. No nayes. In behalf of the Planning Commission, Trustee Mott presented to the Board, N AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ADOPTION OF THE OFFICIAL PLAN OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT' to be read. After some discussions, Mr. S. M. Harrington, Chairman of the Planning Commission, answered all questions to the satis- faction of the Board. It was then moved by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Mott that this Ordinance be passed as read. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Ville. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Mott, and seconded b Y s by Trustee Haas that the Board present the Mount Prospect Planning Commission with a vote of thanks and appreciation for their work in preparing the above Ordinance.Motion carried. Trustee flax presented a petition to be read as follows: To the President and Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect: We, the undersigned, property owners in the Village of Mount Prospect, respectfully petition your honorable body to deny permits for the proposed construction of duplex defense homes at the south end of the Village, inas- much as the limitations of construction of these homes are below the standards of our Village. . We further petition that the recent report of the Planning Commission be favorably be acted upon by you. This report recommends safeguards which are essential to the protection of property values as well as the general L welfare of the entire community. The above petition was signed by 156 property owners. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mlle that the Treasurer's Annival Report for the year ending April 30, 1943, be published in the Mount Prospect Herald. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, lax and Wills. No Hayes. It was moved by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that an order be placed with the Skokie Valley Asphalt Co. for four ton of Asphaltic Rock to be used for the patching of streets. Ayes: Greinke, Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Ville. No nayes. President Besander recommended revising the Liquor Ordinance, in order to reduce the number of taverns to be allowed to operate in the Village. After discussion, the present Liquor Ordinance was referred Mr. Henry Nickel, Village Attorney, for review and report at the next meeting. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Wqx and seconded by Trustee Mott that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried. •-
