Mr. Mulso reported that after investigating, the gasoline engine which was to be used in emergencies for the water pump, could not be used for that pur- pose. Mr. Henry 0. Nickel, Village attorney., read the following letter which was also sent to Mr. A. B. Hulls of 850 A. Lincoln St., Mount Prospect, Illinois: "Mr. John. De Nood 830 (Nest Lincoln Street " Mount Prospect, Illinois Dear Mr. De Nood: The Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect at its regular meeting last night had under discussion the installation of fire hydrants on the west end of Lot 10 and the east end of Lot 16 in North West Hills Country Club Subdivision. Before any definite action can be taken by the Board a further investigation of this matter is necessary. (aC However, the Board instructed me to advise you that the responsibility for the installation of the above mentioned fire hydrants is that of Mr. Harold Willson. On March 3, 1943, as attorney for the Village, I advised Mr. W. C. Tackett and Mr. Harold Willson that the cost of install- ...14 ation at that time was $175.00 per hydrant, making a total of $350.00 for both. I also advised these gentlemen that if the Village was to undertake the work they would be required to first deposit the sume of $350.00. Since that time, as I understand, there has been some dispute between Mr. Willson and Mr. Tackettas to which one should bear the cost of the installation of the fire hydrants. The cost of the installation of these fire hydrants must be borne by the property owners. Mr. Kirchhoff is taking up the matter with the Village r"*" engineers to ascertain what the specifications required at the time Mr. Willson obtained the permission from the Village to install the water main and fire hydrants. In any event, the responsibility for the installation is upon Mr. Willson, the owner of the subdivision, and the Village Board is willing to co- operate with you in any way it can to compel Mr. Willson to install these fire hydrants. As I understand, you purchased your property from Mr. Willson, who, under the circumstances, is directly obligated to you to see that the fire hydrants are installdd. Yours very truly, (Signed) Henry 0. Nickel Attorney for the Village of HON:GP Mount Prospect 4 The Clerk was then instructed to write a letter to the above property owners inviting them to the next regular meeting of the Board in order to voice their opinions on this matter. President Besander instructed the Judiciary Committee to cooperate with t199 Mount Prospect School Board, in finding some means of collecting delinquent :,axes. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that Fred G. Wille be authorized to rent a calculating macnine to facilitate bond calcu- lation. The Plan Commission reviewed the above ordinance at a special meeting held on Nov. 26, 1943. We wish to advise you that the ordinance does not infringe on existing Village Plan Ordinance regulations. The Commission suggests that future conditions may warrant consideration of possible under ground service conduits but insofar as our present plan ordinances generally do not touch .,w on this phase of construction, it will be a thought for future consideration. It is assumed that the above ordinance has been or will be checked by the Village attorney for conformity with similar ordinances of other communities. Yours truly (Signed) A. J. Trunkey W. J. Trunkey Secretary AIJT::mvc Mt Prospect Plan Commission" It was moved by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff, that the charge for Village 1944 Vehicle tags be $5.00 that a discount of $2.00 be allowed if purchased before March 1, 1944.
