OF TRUSTEES HELD MARCH 5, 1963.
President Schlaver opened the meeting at 8:20 P.M., and upon roll call
roll call, the following members were present:

proval of the minutes of February 27, 1963, as submitted, minutes

Trustee Ekren read the following letter dated March 5th from Brickman Mano~
the Plan Commission: Unit 7

"The Plan Commission to whom the attached final plat of
Brickman Manor 1st Addition, Unit No. 7 was referred
for study and recommendation, recommends the approval
of the plat by the Village Board."

concur in the recommendation of the Plan Commission and that the
President and Clerk be authorized to sign this plat.

Trustee Ekren read the following Petition for Annexation:

be annexed to and become a part of the Village of

Trustee Ekren read a draft of an agreement between the Vii-

AND WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect, a municipal corp-
oration~ is the owner of the following described real estate:
Parcel 4:
The N 165 ft o~ ~he E 80 ft of Lot 3 (as measured
on the N and E lines of said lo~) in Juhnke's Sub
of that part of the E 854.70 ft. of the NE 1/~ of
Sec. 14, Twp. 41 ~, R ll E 3rd P.M., lying south
of the center of Golf Road, Cook ~ounty, Illinois;
which property was donated to the Village of Mount Prospect by the said
Salvatore Di Mucci for public purposes of the Village and/or its suc-
cessors and with ~he view in mind that the same be used for a fire
station, and
WHEREAS, it is mutually convenient and expedient to both the
said Salvatore Di Mucci and the Village of Mount Prospect that the
posed fire station to be built be built not upon Parcel 4 but upon
Parcels 1 and 2 and Possibly Parcel 3, and that it is expedient and
desirable for both parties that an exchange of lands as set forth above
be accomplished, and
WHEREAS, the Village of Mount Prospect is presently in a posi-
tion to exchange Parcel 1 for Parcel 4, but is not in a position to
purchase either Parcel 2 or Parcel S nor to obligate itself for the

urchase of said Parcel 2 and Parcel 3;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT AGREED by and between Salvatore Di
Muccl and the Village of Mount Prospect, a municipal corporation,
for an in consideration of the mutual promises hereinafter set
forth:
1. That Salvatore Di Mucci convey or cause to be
conveyed to the Village of Mount Prospect good --
and merchantable title to Parcel 1 subject
only to general taxes for the year 1962 and
memorials of record as noted on the certificate
of title referred to other than the general Tax
memorials shown on said certificate.
la. That the Village shall convey to La Verne
Prozadeney good and merchantable title ~o
Parcel 4 subject to memorials of record and
the Village will aid in the removal o~ restric-
tion as To Municipal use.
2. That the Village of Mount Prospect is hereby
given the options To purchase Parcel 2 for the
sum of six thousand dollars and Parcel 3 for
the sum of two thousand dollars within six
months from date hereof. It is understood that
either of said options may be exercised without
the other.
3. That Salvatore Di Muccl cause to be removed the
storm sewer located on Parcel 2 and relocate
same at his own expense subject to the approval
as to ares by the Fire Chief of the Village of
Mount Prospect.
4. That the options referred to above, which are
being given to the Village of Mount Prospect by
Salvatore Di Muccl, shall he exercised by the
sending of a letter by the Village to Salvatore
Di Mucci at 1000 East Northwest Highway, Mount
Prospect, Illinois, of its election to exercise
said option and the tender of the amounts neces-
sary and as provided for herein. If said options
are not acted upon within the time specified,
then said options shall become null and void, but
the failure of the Village to exercise said options
shall in no way effect the balance of this agree-
ment or the duty and obligation of either party
under this agreement.

Fire Chief Haberkamp stated that he thought the second loca-
tion (Parcels 1,.2 and 3) was much more desirable for a south side
fire station than Parcel 4, would allow a 3-bay station, with en-
trance and exit on Golf Road, and is approved by the Fire Inspection
Rating Bureau.
Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Phillips, moved for the

Re: CASE 63-2.
Petitioners: Edw. G. Busse ~ Wm. Annen~ as
Trustees under Land Trust #16
This petition was a request for rezoning from R-2 to B-3 of
Lots 30, 31~ 32 and the south half of 33; said property located on the
east side of School St. about ~ ft. north of Northwest Hwy., for a
total frontage on School St. of 87 1/2 ft.
During the hearing, petitioner, Edw. Go Busse~ amended the
petition from that stated above to ask for rezoning of Lots 30 and 31
from Ro2 to B-3, and Lots 32 and south 1/2 of 33 (a total of 37 1/2
ft. fronting'on School St.) from R-2 to P-l, Off street Parking-Paved.
The Board of Appeals voted 7 to 0 to approve the rezoning re-
quest as amended, There were no objectors present.

This matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee.
Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Ekren, moved to
Fire Dept. authorize the Fire g Police Commission to hold examination for
three firemen, to be raised to the rank of Lieutenant. After dis-
cussion, this motion was withdrawn for further review.

President Schlaver commended Water Superintendent Dave Creamer
Water Dept and his crew for faithful attention to duty in the face of two tough
jobs over the past two week ends, main breaks at Rte. 83 and Lincoln~
and another on the north end of Rte. 83.
President Schlaver drew attention to work sheets for budget
Finance prepared by the Finance Director, and requested the'Finance Committee
to give them a preliminary screening.
AttornEy Hofert submitted to members of the Board copies of a
Purchase proposed purchase agreement drawn up for Cook County Water Company by
agreement him, which was thereupon discussed by the Board.
C~ok County :
Water Co. Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Bickley, moved that
Finance Director King and Attorney Hofert be authorized to negotiate
with Cook County Water Company for establishment of a water rate if
the Village does not buy this system, and to negotiate for an integra-
tion agreement.
