HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/06/1944 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MONTHLY MEETING HEW 415 IN THE VILLAGE HALL OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, BY THE PRESIDENT PRO TEM AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES ON TUESDAY, JUNE 6, 1944 A.D. Due to the absence of President Besander, the Clerk called the meeting to order at 8:25 P.M. The roll being called, the following Trustees were found to be present: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Wille. Trustee Greinke was absent. It was moved by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Wille that due to the illness of President Besander, Trustee Mott be elected to act as President pro tem. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Wax and Wille. No nayes. The Clerk then read the following letter: Village Clerk March 5, 1944 Dear Sir: Enclosed is a copy of our audit report covering the receipt and disbursements of motor fuel tax funds by your Village for the period beginning June 5, 1934 and ending December 31, 1941. Prospect Public 417 Library, signed by M. L. Green, Chairman Building & Ground Committee, was read and referred to the Poet War Plan Commission for consideration. The annual report of the Mount Prospect Public Library was read. It was moved by Trustee Mille and seconded by Trustee Wax that the report be placed on file. Motion carried. On a motion made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff, Mr. Mulso was instructed to have the Village truck pick up new Library books at the mdisdn Park depot and deliver to the Public Library. A letter received from Mr. Young, attorney for the Crofoot Co. in regard to their sign, was read, and referred to the Village attorney with instructions P-4 to write to the Greenley Painting Co. and the Crofoot Co. regarding the matter. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Wille that a request for disconnecting the Mount Prospect Country Club from the Village, be refer- red to the Plan Commission for investigation and report at the next regular meeting,, and that the Clerk notify Mr. Harrington, Chairman of the Plan Com- mission. Motion carried. It was moved by Trustee Kirchhoff and seconded by Trustee Wax that the salary of Frederick Krohn be raised $10.00 per month, and that his working uours be changed from 44 to 46 hours per week. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Wax and Wille. �.� No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that the follow- ing resolution be adopted: pro tem BE IT RESOLVED by the President/and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that all persons in the Village of Mount Prospect refrain from using water for sprinkling lawns, gardens, or in nurseries and in Florist greenhouses, between the hours of 5:00 P.M. and 8 :00 P.M. of each day during the months of June, July and August. Motion carried. . A letter received by Trustee Wax from. Mrs.. Jean Zeman, in regard to the excavated lot adjacent to her property, wad read, and referred to the Superiu- p , , tendent' of Streets for investigation. It was moved by Trustee Wqx and seconded by Trustee Wille that the Woman's Club of Mt. Prospect be given permission to sell tags for the Salvation Army on Tuesday, June 20, 1944. Motion carried. The Clerk then read the ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1944, AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1945. It was moved by Trustee Haas and seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that the appropriation ordinance, as read by the Clerk, be passed. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Wax and Wille. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Haas, seconded by Trustee Wille that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried..
