HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/05/1944 VB minutes 426 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT ANDBOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE; HALL OF MuUdT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS, ON THE 5th DAY OF SEPTEMBER, 1944 A.D. The meeting was called to order by President Besander at 8:08 P.M. and upon calling of the roll, the following Trustees were found to be present: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Wille. Trustee Greinke was absent. The m inutes of the regular meeting of August 1st and the special meeting of August 25th, 1944 were read. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Truetee Mille that they be accepted as read. Motion carried. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and Wille. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee ~Ville that the special assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried. A request was made by Mr. L. Johnson, that the Village Board consider free water eupply to the Public School. During discussion, it was brought out that a similar request was made in March of 1942. President Besander referred the matter to the :Water Committee for con- sideration and report at the next regular meeting. Mr. T. Moehling requested that the Board /consider their previous action in reducing the number of liquor licenses within the Village and stated that the property at Main.Street..and Northwest Highway could only be rented for a tavern. Mr. Moehling's request was refer- red to the Judiciary Committee. A letter signed by nine property owners was read, in which they irsio urge the Board of Trustees to act favorably on the recommendations of the Planning Commission regarding the disconnection of Lot 18 of the Northwest Hills Country Club Subdivision. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax, and Wine._ No nayes. It was moved by Trustee iax, seconded by Trustee lVille that in accord- ance with the amended water ordinance, the $5.00 deposit be refunded to the following citizens: Vm. L. Berroyer M. N. Oliveson C. E. Barrow Wm. E. Flesch C. N. Rehling Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and iVi11e. No nayes. It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Ville that sprink- ling be permitted by the entire Village, from 7 to 11 F.M. on Tuesdays and Fridays until further notice. Motion carried. Trustee Mott presented the following resolution: SALE OF 1944 TAX ANTICIPATION WARRANTS RgAS, Barcus, Kindred & Co., and Enyart, Van Camp & Co., Inc. has agreed to � purchase not more than $14,000.00 of 1944 general corporate fund tax anticipation warrants bearing interest at the rate of One and Five- eighth percent (1 -5/81) and to pay for said warrants par, plus preu_nium of Fifty Cents (.50) per $1,000.00 tax warrant and accrued interest from August 15, 1944; NOW, THEREFOR2, EE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect that the sale to Barcus, Kindred & Co., and Eyart, Van Camp & Co. Inc., of $7,000.00 of 1944 general corporate fund tax anticipation warrants, being numbered C -1 to C -14 inclusive, bearing interest at the rate of One and Five - eighth percent (1 -5/8 %) at par and accrued interest from August 15, 1944, be and the same is hereby approved and confirmed, AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that delivery of said tax anticipation warrants be made pursuant to the terms of ordinance entitled "An ordinance providing for the issuance of 1944 tax anticipation warrants of the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois ", passed and approved on the first day of August, A.D., 1944. 71141 It was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Wax that the above reso- lution be passed. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Sax and Willa. No Nayes. A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee W'ille, that a ton of tar be purchased for the repair of streets. Ayes: Haas, Kirchhoff, Mott, Wax and iVi 11e. No nayes. There being no further business to come before this meeting, it was moved by Trustee Wille and seconded by Trustee Vax that the meeting be adjourned. Motion carried.
