MINUTES OF A POSTPONED REGULAR
MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND
BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE
VILLAGE HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT,
• ILLINOIS, ON THE 8TH DAY OF
JANUARY, 1946 A.D.
President Pendleton called the meeting to order at 8:05 P.M. The
roll being called, the following Trustees responded; Hartwig, Lams, Mott,
Wax and Welsh. Trustee Kirchhoff was absent.
The minutes of the regular meetings of December 4th, 1945 and January
1st, 1946 were read. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by
Trustee Wax that the minutes be accepted as read. Motion carried.
The following Treasurer's report was then read:

A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Wax that the i
Treasurer's report be accepted as read. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax
and Welsh. No nayes.
It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott, that 3249-95N-\
be transferred from the General Water Fund to the Deep Well Account. Ayes:
Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A'motion was made,by Trustee Welsh, and seconded by Trustee Wax, that
the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried.
It was moved Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Hartwig, that the
bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. Ayes:
Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
The annual report and payroll of the Mt. Prospect Volunteer Fire 493
Department was then read and a motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded
by Trustee Hartwig that the payroll be aprroved for payment. Ayes: Hartwig,
Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
The following communication was then read:
Village Board of Mt. Prospect

Gentlemen:
Our annual election was held on December 6, 1945
at our regular meeting and the following Officers were
unanimously elected for the year 1946.
I hereby submit the Officers for your approval.

I� was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that the Board
approve the elected officers of the Mt. Prospect Volunteer Fire Dept. for
1946 as submitted. Motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Lams, that the
Village Treasurer be authorized to pay to the Mt. Prospect Volunteer Fire De-
, partment the amount of $244.26 remaining in the 2% Fire Department Tax Fund, as
of December 31, 1945, less the collection fee to be paid to the Illinois Munic-
ipal League of $12.06 as per their statement of November 15, 1945, or a net
amount of $232.20. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
_) A motion was made by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Welsh that
Mr. Albert L. Roderick make the semi - annual audit of the Water Works System
for the period ending December 31, 1 945, for a fee of $75.00. Ayes: Hartwig,
Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
It was moved by Trustee,Mott, seconded by Trustee Welsh that the Fire
and Extended Coverage Insurance policy be renewed for the Pine Street well
house and reservoir. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made by Trustee Wax, seconded by Trustee Mott, that the
Treasurer's annual report ending April 30, 1945 be published in the Mt. Pros -
pect Herald. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A resolution approving the application for an allotment of $945.00 for
a water softening plant in accordance with the State of Illinois Senate bill
303 was then read. It was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Lams
that the Resolution be adopted and that application to the Federal Works Agency
for the water softening plant be prepared and filed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott,
Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Wax that the
President and the Clerk be authorized to execute the contract for engineering
i services between the Village and Consoer, Townsend and Associates, consulting
engineers for the "water softening plant ". Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and
Welsh. No nayes.
After discussion, a. motion was made by Trustee Welsh and seconded by
trustee Lams that no application be filed with any agency for grade crossing
protection at Emmerson St. and-the Chicago and Northwestern Railway tracks, and
that no application be filed for State aid for a pedestrian underpass at Main
St. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made, by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Hartwig that
the Finance Committee be authorized to purchase ten chairs to be used for Vill-
age Board meetings. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
9 '� After reading by the Clerk, a motion was made by Trustee Mott and
seconded uy Trustee Welsh that "A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION
OF AN AGRE2MENT AND PUBLIC VOUCHER WITH THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA -
THROUGH THE FEDERAL WORK AGENCY" by adopted. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott,
Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
An ordinance entitled "AN ORDINANCE PERTAINING TO STREET IMPROVE-
MENTS"was then read. It was moved by Trustee Hartwig and seconded by
Trustee Lams that said ordinance be passed. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott,
Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
It was moved by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Mott that 1946
Vehicle tags be issued free of charge, as in previous years, to all Board
members, firemen, and regular Village employees. Ayes: Hartwig, Lams,
Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes. ,
"A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE EXECUTION OF VOUCHERS IN SPECIAL
ASSESSMENT WARRANT NOS. 5 AND 6" was read. It was moved by Trustee Welsh, ,r....i
seconded by Trustee Mott, that the Resolution be adopted, subject to the
personal inspection of the Collector's record by the Village attorney.
Ayes: Hartwig, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
There being no further business'to come before this meeting, it
was moved by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Wax that the meeting be
adjourned. Motion carried.
