MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES HELD IN THE VILLAGE
HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS,
ON THE 3rd DAY OF SEPTEMBER,
1946 A.D.
The meeting was called to order at 8:30 2.M. by President
Pendleton and upon calling the roll the following Trustees were found
to be present: Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh.
The minutes of the regzlar meeting of August 6th were read and
approved on a motion by Trustee Lams and second of Trustee Wax. Motion
carried.

It was moved by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Mott that the
Treasurer's report be accepted as read. Ayes:Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams,
i Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made by Trustee Welsh and seconded by Trustee Hart-
wig that the Special Assessment report be placed on file. Motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Lams that the
bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. Ayes:
Hartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made by Trustee Mott and seconded by Trustee Welsh
that the Chicago and Northwestern Railway depot and the Village Hall be
designated as polling places for the Village election, to be held, in
April, 1917. Motion carried.
The following communication was then read:

Hon. Village Board,
Mt. Prospect, ill.
Gentlemen
When we are installing the sidewalks on Elmhurst Road
from Man -A-Wa Trail to Golf Road this fall, we respectfully ask your
permission to continue from Man -a -wa Trail north to connect with strip
on the new bridge thence northerly to Council Trail on west side of said
i1,J Elmhurst Road.
If granted permission and your Hon. Board will maintain
the energy, we will install ornamental concrete lamp posts at each end
of the new Elmhurst Ave. bridge. •

A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, seconded by Trustee Hartwig that the
Board grant Mr. Lonnquist's request and accept his proposal for install-
ing ornamental light posts, subject to approval by the Cook County De-
partment of Highways. Motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Wax dnd seconded by Trustee Lame
that Clarence H. Niebuhr be appointed as a member of the Mt. Prospect
Volunteer Fire Department. Motion carried.
It was moved by Trustee Lams, seconded by Trustee Hartwig, that
in accordance with the amended water ordinance the $5.00 deposit be re-
funded to Mr. R. F. Ailligan. Ayes: nartwig, Kirchhoff, Lams, Mott, Wax
and Welsh. No nayes.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams and seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff
that the Public School and the St. Pauls Lutheran School be given permis-
sion to place half street barricades as designated by the Chief of Police •
between the hours of C:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Motion Carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Wax and seconded by Trustee Lams that
a special meeting of the President and Board of Trustees be held at 8:00
P.M. on Tuesday, Sept. 10, 1946, for the purpose of transacting unfinished
business and other matters that may properly come before the Board at that
time. Motion carried.
There being no further business to come before this meeting, it
was moved by Trustee Mott, seconded by Trustee Kirchhoff that the meeting
be adjourned. Motion carried.
