MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE VILLAGE
HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 14, 1947
The meeting was called to order by President
Pendleton at 8:00 F.M. The clerk called the roll and
the following Trustees responded: Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig,
Lams, Mott and Welsh.
The minutes of the regular meeting of September
9th and a special meeting of September 30th, were then
read. Trustee Lams called attention to the fact that the
name "Lions Fall Carnival" should be the "Lion's Fall
Festival ". The motion was made by Trustee Hartwig and
seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved as correct-
ed. The President put the question and the Clerk called
the roll with the following result: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried
and said minutes approved as corrected.
The Treasurers report for the period ending
September 30, 1947 was then read. A motion was made by
Trustee Mott, and seconded by Lams, that the Treasurer's
report be approved as read and placed on file. The Presi-
dent put the question and the Clerk called the roll with
the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried and said
report approved.
A motion was made by Trustee Welsh, and seconded
by Bayne, that the Special Assessment Report be placed on
file. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by
Lams, that the bills es approved by the Finance Committee
be approved for payment. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following result:
Ayes: All: Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried and said bills approved for payment.
The Clerk then read a letter, dated October 6th,
from Mr. D. D. Florence of Willson and Florence, regarding
the proposed improvements on Se -Gwun Ave. A motion was
made by Trustee Welsh, and seconded by Hartwig that the
letter be placed on file. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
The Clerk then informed President Pendleton that
no bids had been received for the construction of the Fro -
posed Municipal Building. The motion was then made by
Trustee Mott and seconded by Bayne, that the Village Clerk
re- advertise for bids, on the proposed new Municipal Build -
ing, in the Mount Prospect Herald and in the Chicago Con-
struction News, with new opening date of sealed bids set
for Tuesday, November llth, 1947. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried and Clerk so instructed.
The Auditor's reports covering the Village
finances and the Water Works System for the fiscal year
ended April 30,1947 were then submitted. A motion was
made by Trustee Mott, and seconded by Lams, that the Audit
reports be accepted. The motion was voted upon by accla-
mation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried
and said reports accepted and placed on file.
The motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, and
seconded by Welsh, that the Health and Sanitation Committee
be authorized to sell; for the best price obtainable; the
Dodge truck and dump body, either separately or combined.

The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon, the President declared the motion carried and Health and
Sanitation Committee so instructed.
The motion was made by Trustee Mott, and seconded by
Lams, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon, the President declared the motion
carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
