Upon roll call, the following trustees answered Present: Airey, Caster- roll cal:
line and Norris. ABeant, Trustees (}an, Schlaver and Ekren. Trustee
Ekren arrived later in the evening.
Trustee Airey, seconded by ?marco. Norris, m~ved that the
·tnutes of the previous ~eeting cf 14~ 17th be approved as submitted.
The President lint the qustion, the Clerk called the roll, with the minutes
following response~ Ayes, ?r~ees Atroy, Custerline and Norris.
Nays, none. ~hereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Airey, seconded by Trustee Casterline, ~oved that the
following bills for the week mf Nay 24, 19~0, be approved as follows:

Trustee Casterline brought up the subJ eot cf additions to the
police force, stating that with the increase in our population, nure Police Del~
help was needed, and ~ade the full~ing mation~ That the Police & Fire Hire pa%roi
Coa~iseinn be authorized a~d directed to hire a~ additional patrolman man
as sonn as possible. ~he President put the question, the Clerk called
the roll, with the full.lng rusponse~ Ayes, Trustees Airey, Casterline
and Norris. Absant; ~aw, Ekren and Sehlav_er. Nays, none. Whereupon
the President declared the ~otian carried.
Trustee Cesterline, seconded by Trustee Airey, ~oved that the
Village ~anager be directed to e~loy a qualified w~ for the Police
Police Depart~ont, for clerical duty, radio work and police matron, Woman
as soon as possible; the individual selected to Be a future candidate
for policewoman. Discussion followed; Trustee Norris felt that th~
person ought to Be a qualified policewoman to begin with. It was decided
to persue this question at a later ~eeting when all were prusent, and
Tr~teee Casterline a~d Airey withdrew their ~otion.
Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Norris, ~oved that
the previously approved salary schedule for patrolnon apply to all Police Dept.
patrolmen on the forue; the one change hereby effected be made retro- salaries
active to ~ !~ 1~0. The President put the question, the Clerk
called the roll, with the fulleeing response: Ayes, Trustees Airuy,
Casterline, and Norris. Abeent, Oan, Ekr~n and Schlaver. ~hereupon
the President declared the ~otion carried.
Trustee Casterline also read off the schedule for registration
of bicycles at the various schonls, bicycles
~rs. ~ewell Es~ond~ representing the Mt. Pruspect Wonen~s Club,
spoke to the Board, asking their support in a pr~ra~ of beautification
of the Village. This pru~a~ included Planting ef petunia beds in the
park~F on Prospect Avenue,. setting tub~ nf geran~,~a outside the shops,
~?rovemont of railroad depot area, etc. ?rustle Airey, seconded
by Trustee ~asterline, ~oved to g~ant authorization to the Beautification of
~omen~s Club to establish flower beda~ provide ~atching funds the Village ~
to a ~axtenm of $200- for all iw~r~ve~ents e~clusive of the redwood
b~es for geraniwes; with the understanding that the Village ia not
at this ti~e respousbile for a~ ~aintenance of said improvemants.

reasurer's Trustee Airey, seconded by T~cstea Norris, moved that the
Treasurer's Repc~ for the month of April, 1~0, be accepted and

Casterline, and Norris. Absent, Ekron, Gaw and Schlaver. ~hereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Airey, seconded by Trustee Norris, moved to author-
ize the Village Attorney to retain expert witnesses te tes~t~y on
lversen ye behalf of the village in the court ease cf Iversen vs. Village of
Village Nount Prospect. The President put the q~estion, the Clerk called the
roll, with the follesing response~ Ayes, Trustees Airey, Casterline,
and Norris. Absent, ~a~, Ekren and $chlaver. Whereupon the President
declared the notion carried.
~astee Norris, seConded by Trastee Casterline, moved that all
Lonnquist Pkwy of the stone gateways at the intersection of Lmmquist Boulevard and
stoue gates Highwa~ $3 (Elmhuret Avenue) be removed. This is to allow widening
of Lennquist. The President put the question, the Clerk called the
roll, with the following response~ Ayes, Trustees Airey, Casterline
and Norris. Absent, Gaw, Ekren and Schlaver. ~hereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Trustee Ekron arrived at 9~25 P.M. and took his seat.
Nr. Dave NoCey of Brickma~ Builders spoke, discussing the
progresz of the drainage problem in ~andvie~ Nighlands. He said
Randview' t~t B~ickman is willing tc install extra catch basins, if the
H~la~ds Village will approve this installation so that it will be accepted
sewers by the Netrupolitan Sanitary District, and if each homeowner affected
will allow easement rights on his property for such installation.
F~r. William Cadigan cf Concoct, Townsend, Village engineers, said
that he would be glad to inspect this work, b~t thought mush could
be accomplished by fine grading of the back of the lots and cleaning
out of present sewer.
TruStee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved that
erection of a swi~eing pool at ?00 South Yoke, Nr. E. Skwarle, be
$~mming pool accepted, plans for which having been approved by the Building Committee
and Architectural Committee. The President put the question, the
Clerk called the roll, with the folloui~g respe~e: Ayes, Trustees
Airey, Casterline, Ekren and Norris. Absent, ~aw and $chlaver. Where-
upon the President declared the motiou carried.
Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee l~orris, moved that the
Well ~8 Village pay Wehling Well Works for 18~ hours at $14.00 per hour, or
Wehl~mg Well $2,240.00, for removing, tools, as part of the cleaning out of
Works after shooting. The Pr~idgnt put the question, the Clerk called the
roll, with the following response: Ayes, Trustees-Airey, Casterline,
Ekren and Norris. Absent, ~aw and Schlaver. Whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Trustee Airey, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved that
Property next the President and Clerk be authorized to sign tbs optio~ agreement
to Library between the Village cf Nount Prospect and Nartiu H. Nasz as trustee
pertaining to the property located at ~0 South Emerson Street. This
is the property adjacent to 'the Public Library. The President put
the question, the Clerk called the roll, with .the following response~
Ayes, Trustees Airey, Ekren, Casterline and Norris. Absent,
and $chlaver. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Rescinding Trustee Airey~ seconded By Trustee Casterline, moved that
Res. ~-80 re Resolution ~8-~0 be rescinded. The President 'put the question,
library property the Clerk called the roll, withthe follow~ responae~ Ayes,
Trustees Airey, Casterline, Ekrun and Norris. Absent, Gaw and
$chlaver. Whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
President La~ read a letter fr~ the Xroger Cce~a~ asking
fox' license to sell alcoholic beverages in their new store in Liquor License
No~t Prospect Plaza. The c~sensus of the Board was not to change
the ordinance at this ti~e.
Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Ekren, loved for
adJourmaent, and the ~eeting was regularly adjourned at 10:25
