'OF TRUSTEES HELD TUESDAY, OCTOBER 2, 1962
President Schlaver called the meeting To order at 8:15 P.M.
with the following members presenT: roll call
Bruhl Ekren Absent: Bickley
Caw Casterline Phillips
Trustee Phillips arrived au 8:18 P.M.
Chief of Police George Whittenberg introduced Mr. George Kern
to the Board. Mr. Kern is from the Traffic Division of the National Traffic
Safety Council. He gave a summary of the over-all picture of traffic
problems and deaths and injuries, showing the status of Mount Prospect
against that of the countrsz and state as a whole. He then submitted to
the Board his recommendation for improvement of traffic control in this
Village.
Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Caw, moved for the
approval of the minutes of September 25th as submitted, minutes

Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Ekren, moved for approval
of bills for the previous week as follows:

Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved to pay Greely &
bill from Engineers Greely g Hanson in the amount of $2,404.33 for the Hanson,
~tudy of the Arlington Heights ~ewers and Weller Creek. This amount engineers
is $1,254.33 over the appropriation of $1,150.00. payment

Trustee Casterline read letter from Mrs. Anthon~ J. Daley, fence -
1302 West Lincoln, requesting permission to erect fence higher than A. Daley
allowed to contain their very large dog. This request was referred
to the Building Committee.

James King position of Director of Finance and Comptroller as described in

the Board concur in the President's appointment of James C. Kink To
the post of Finance Director and Comptroller.

Tec Search, Inc. Trustee Ek~ read letter from Mr. EuKene Baughman of
Consultant Tec-Search, Inc., dated Odtoher 1, replying To request from the
Judiciary Committee for consulting services re zoning and annexation.
This letter outlines~proposed services and fees.
Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved To employ the
services of Eugene Baughmann for consultation services as outlined
in his letter of October 1, 1~52.

Water - Trustee Phillips, sec6nded by Trustee Casterline, moved
Well #7 that Consoer, Townsend ~ Associates be authorized and directed to
proceed at once tO prepare plans and specifications for the work
covered in the water works improvement report of Consoer, Townsend g
Associates, and that special emphasis be placed nn getting Well #7
under construction as quickly as possiblel

Well No. 7 is to be located at Waterman and Gregory Streets on Park
property.

Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Bruhl, moved that Wa%er bonds
the Village attorney be directed to arrange the legal steps
necessary to issue water revenue bonds for the financing of the
work indicated as outlined in the preceding motion.

Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Gaw, moved that
the Board of Trustees concur in the report of the Water Committee
dated October, 1962. This motion carried by acclamation.
Trustee Gaw, seconded by TruSeee Ekren, moved for the Ord. 872
passage of Ord. 872: Liquor
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 13.113 of Municipal Code
SO AS TO PROHIBIT THE CONSUMPTION OF DONATED LIQUOR
ON PREMISES LICENSED TO SELL LIQUOR IN PACKAGE FORM
ONLY.

Mo~ion carried.
Mr. Michael Mokate arose and thanked %he Village Board and Mokate
property owners for dedication of land and installation of sidewalk sidewalk
with street widening along Elmhurst at Central.
Mr. Appleby thanked the Park Board for the use of a small Well 7 at
portion of their land at the new northside park for installation of park
Well #7. Mr. Appleby also stated he was sure the paving for 18CS 18OS paving
would be finished before the weather closed in.
President Schlaver proclaimed the week of October lgth Proclamation
through October 20th, 1962 as Suburban Homemaker Week, and commended
Paddock Publications and the National Suburban Press Foundation
for conducting a search for the Homemaker of the Year.
