HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/04/1962 VB minutes MINUTES OF THE BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD ON TUESDAY~ SEPTEMBER ~ 1962 President Schlaver called the meeting to order at 8:23 P.M. with the following members present: roll call Bickley Gaw Bruhl Ekren Casterline Phillips Trustee Casterline, seconded hy Trustee Phillips, moved that the minutes of the meeting of August 28th he approved as submitted. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bickley Bruhl Casterline Gaw Ekren Phillips Motion carried. Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Ekren, moved for approval of the following bills: minutes General . . . $21,222.09 Garbage . . 1,080.85 Library . . 742.70 Water operation . . 9,589.18 Water bond & interest 5,787.50 $38,469.07 Upon roll call: Ayes: Bickley Bruhl Casterline Gaw Ekren Phillips Motion carried. Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Phillips, moved that the audit of audit of the Water Fund by Ernst & Ernst as of July 31, 1962, be accepted. Trustee Bruhl reported that meetings of the Weller Creek Committee had been held and that before work c~ald be attempted on Stage 5 of the Welter Creek it would he necessary to release funds now frozen by the State and Creek secure necessary right of ways. Attorney Hofert was asked if he would see that all right of ways were secured and he indicated he would. Trustee Casterline reported that Randhurst has agreed to alter Randh~rst their electrical system to conform with the Code of the Village. electrical Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Ekren,~moVed for the passage of Ord. ~868: Ord. 863 Building AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORD. ~856 and RE-ADOPTING CERTAIN Code PROVISIONS OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE of 1957 REPEALED IN ERROR. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bickl~y Bruhl Casterline Gaw Ek~en Phillips Motion carried. Discussion was held with the residents of the 800 and 900 blocks Maple Drive of South Maple Drive in regard to erection of ornBmental corner post and lights light at Golf Road and Maple Drive. Trustee Gaw, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved that the Board approve construction of astone entranceway au Maple Drive and Golf Road on the north side of Golf Road; erection to be north of the State right of way~ each corner post to be on the property owners~ side of the sidewalk on September 4, 1962 Maple Drive; cost to be arranged by the building developer and residents of Maple Drive, maintenance to be the concern of the re residents; final plans and procedural agreements to be put into letter and submitted to the Village Manager for final approval. Health Trustee Gaw, seconded by Trustee Phillips, moved that ten- Dept0 tative requirements for health ordinance drawn up by the Board of Health be submitted to the Village Attorney to be put into correct legal form as aR ordinance. This motion carried by acclamation. Fire Dept. Trustee Phillips explained that Mr. Sal Di Mucci had offered land the Village a parcel of land hear Busse Road and Golf Road for Fire Department purposes in exchange for piece of land previously deeded to the Village near Golf Road and Hwy. 83, and further that the Village would be given option to purchase abutting piece for S15,000. Mr. Di Mucci would remove the house presently thereon, Trustee Phillips, seconded.by Trustee Bickley, moved that the Village Attorney be.asked to make the necessary exchange of properties described above from property at Routes 83 and 58 to property at Route 58 and Busse Road. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bickley Bruhl Casterline Gaw Ekren Phillips Notion carried. Refund fee Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Bruhl, moved that the Village Board authorize a refund of $25 sound truck fee to the Midget Football Association. This motion carried by acclamation. Discussion was held regarding issuance of courtesy tickets traffic to residents who park on the street near St. Raymond's Church instead 6f filling up the parking lot, and residents of Hatlen Heights who leave their cars on the streets all night. Mr. Roy Kuszinski of the Hatlen Heights Civic Association arose and than ked the police department for issuance of these warning.tickets as it is taking care of sloppy parkers and has sparked interest in in~allation of driveways. County Trustee Ek~en of the Judiciary Com~ittee asked the Village zoninM Manager To attend County Zoning heari~ to be held in the Board Room on September 5th. Mr. Appleby indicated he would. Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Bickley, moved for the Ord. 864 passage of Ord. #864: ZoninE Case AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING ORDINANCE RELATING TO PROPERTY LOEATED AT 300-302 WEST NORTHWEST HIGHWAY. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bickley Bruhl C~rlfua ~h~llips Ekren Phi~l.~?~ Nays: Casterline Gaw Motion carried. September 4, 1962 Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Phillips, moved for the passage of Ordinance ~865: Ord. 865 amends liquor AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC.1S.11~.t of the license MUNICIPAL CODE 0F MOUNT PROSPECT This ordinance prohibits dancing, floor shows, etc. on premises of .building with Class A 9nd Bliqu°r licenses. upon roll call: Ayes: Bickley Bruhl Ekren Gaw Phillips Casterline Motion carried. Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Bickley, moved that the Tech Resub plat of Tech Resubdivision be referred to the Plan Commission for study and recommendation. This motion carried by acclamation. Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved to accept recommendation of the Plan Commission ~o approve plat of TechResubdivision. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bicktey Bruhl Phillips Ekren Gaw Casterline MOtion carried. Trustee Ekren stated that Trustee Harry Bruhl was chosen~president pro rem of the Weller Creek Committee in the absence of Mr. Klehm, Weller Creek and that the next meeting of this committee will be September 20th. Village Manager Appleby read portions of letters from the Cook County Health Department and the Metropolitan Sanitary District as follows: ~'1. Letter from the Metropolitan Sanitary District by Mr. B. A. Scheidt, Chief Engineer~ stated that the high dissolved oxygen content and the low BOD con- centration indicate that the degree of pollution is Not such as to create a nuisance. 2. Letter from Robert de Jonge, Chief Sanitary Engineer of the Cook County Department of Public Health, giving the results of tests made between May 17th and August 1, 1962, of samples collected from Weller Creek, and stating that the results do not indicate severe pollution during the time of sampling. President Schlaver read letter from Mr. George O'Neill, President of Randhurst Shopping Center~ thanking him for the co-operation of Village officials and personnel in getting the shopping center started. President Schlaver also gave complaint from residents on Board of Healt] George and Edward Streets re animal clinic, to the Health Committee. President Schlaver gave a letter from the West Central Civic Association regarding traffic situation to the Police Committee. Adjournment was by acclamation at 9:~7 P.M.
