The meeting was called to order at 8:28 P.M. by President Schlaver,
with the following trustees present:

appointment of ~r. Douglas Carney, Building Superintendaent, for the post
of Chief Elec%rical Inspector. President Schlaver stated that he would
defer decision ~ntil next week, when he has had time to consider.
Trustee Casterline recommended the following qualified individuals to be
named to the Village Electrical Commission: Electrical

President Schlaver stated he would defer appointments until he had
had time to consider.
Signs Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Caw, moved that
permission be granted for erection of sign as petitioned for by
Mr. D~niel Welch, 2434' West Fletcher, Chicago; this sign to be
erected on the east side of Eand Road, Aunt Jemima's Pancake House.

Trustee Casterline explained that this sign had been applied for and
ordered some time before passage of the Sign Ordinance.
Trustee Gaw reported, that meeting with the Sanitary District
Drainage was held by Messrs. Hofert, Cadigan, Schlaver, Gaw, Appleby and King.
WeGo Park This was regarding drainage problems in the We Go Park area; Trustee
area Gaw gave credit to Attorney Hofert and Treasurer King for impressing
upon the members of the Sanitary District the size and gravity of the
situation. Said members agreed to present the facts to their Board.
Trustee Caw further reported that engineering program should
streets be begun regarding installation of streets around new northwest side
park to be constructed at Gregory and Waterman; funds to come from the
1963 MFT program. The Street Committee also. recommended widening of
Emerson Street between Busse Avenueand Northwest Highway, to cost
about $16,800; to be done along with the 1962 MFT program.
1962 Trustee Gaw, seconded by Trumtee Casterline, moved that the Village
~T program Engineers be directed to prepare the necessary papers to include the
widening program on Emerson Street from Northwest Highway to Busse
Avenue in our 1962 MET program.

County Zoning Village Manager Appleby read notices from the County Zoning
Board Board re Dockets 360, 3B7 and 364. It was decided .to take no action
in these cases.
drainage Mr. Appleby reported that Mr. Cadigan of C. T. & A. is pro-
Lancaster ceeding with plans for installation of drain tile field in the area
around Lancaster Street.
Pres. Schlaver President Schlaver thanked all those who sent flowers and
expressed sympathy for his mother' s funeral held the previous week.
Village Attorney Hofert reported that new zoning maps in
Zoning book form had been prepared, up-to-date ko December 31, 1961, and
maps considered this a substantial addition to our Zoning laws, pointing
out that no other town in the Northwest area has a map as comprehen-
sive as this. He asked the trustees to examine this booklet to make
sure that all was correct before allowing distribution.
~ Trustee Bruhl, seconded by Trustee Bickley, moved that the
Dogs Village Treasurer be directed to return $2- in dog tag fees to those ~-~
owners of female dogs who paid $5- for their tags this year, before
the new Dog Ordinance was passed setting the fee as $3- for all dogs. ~-~-J

Trustee Oasterline read prepared statement regarding issuance
ef liquor licenses, protesting the present policy of expanding their liquor
number and s%a~i~ that considerable interest in this had bean shown by
certain citizens, who plan to express their opinion regarding this ~atter
at the next week's meeting. President Schlaver replied that as elected
representative of the people and sole liquor commissioner, it was within
his discretionary powers to set the pelicy and to issue licenses to those
he deemed suitable.
Meeting was adjourned by acclamation at 9:i§SPPM.
