MINUTES OF A. REGULAR MEETING
OF THE 'RESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE VILLAGE
HALL, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 12, 1948.
The meeting was called to order by President
Pendleton at 8 :00 I.M. The Clerk called the roll and
the following, Trustees responded: Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig,
Lams, Mott, and Welsh.
The minutes of the regular meeting of Septem-
ber 14th were then read. A motion was made by Trustee
Welsh, seconded by Hartwig, that the minutes be approved
as read. The President put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said minutes approved.
The Treasurer's report for the period ending
September 30th, 1948 was then read. A motion was made
by Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that the Treasurer's
report be approved as read and placed on file. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and
said report approved.
( The motion was then made by Trustee Bayne,
seconded by Welsh, that the expense of One Hundred
Dollars ($100.00) additional to that previously ap-
proved for new police car be approved. The President
put the question and the Clerk called the roll with
the following` Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded
by Welsh, that the bills as approved by the Finance
Committee be approved for payment. The President put
the question and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried and said
bills approved for payment.
The motion was made by Trustee Hartwig,
seconded by Bayne, that the Special Assessments Re-
port be placed on file. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Mott,
seconded by Welsh, that the Board of Trustees pro-
ceed with committee reports. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President de-
clared the motion carried.
The motion was made by Trustee Bydal,
seconded by Lims, that in accordance with the amended
water ordinance the 0.00 deposit be refunded to con-
sumers as listed by Water Rate Collector, September
30, 1948. The President put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said deposits to be refunded.
The Clerk then read a letter, dated October
7, 1948, from the Village Engineers, regarding infor-
mal bids on the proposed new well.
A motion was made by Trustee Bydal, seconded
by Welsh, that the motion previously passed September
14, 1948 instructing the Clerk to advertise for bids
on a new well, as per old plans, be rescinded. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.

The motion was then made by Trustee Bydal, second-
ed by Lams, that informal bids be solicited for a new well
as per Village Engineer's letter of October 7, 1948. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Presi-
dent declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read a letter dated August 13,
1948, from the Village Engineer's regarding preparation
of plans for relief sewers.
A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by
Welsh, that decision on authorization to prepare plans for
relief sewers be held up until the Board members meet with
Mr. Weber's committee on the sewer problem. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A letter dated October 8, 1948, from the Chicago
Decalcomania Co. regarding 1949 vehicle license decals to
be furnished at a price of 7* cents each was then read.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by
Hartwig, that the Street Department, be authorized to
purchase a grease gun for a sum not to exceed *25.00. This
gun to be used by Village employees to grease Village equip-
ment. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was then made by Trustee Hartwig,
seconded by Bayne, that the meeting be adjourned until
12:01 A.M., October 13, 1948. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried and the meeting adjourned.
