MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF ° TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNIUIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT rROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, APRIL 5, 1949 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8:05 P.M. and the clerk was then directed to call the roll. upon the roll being called the follow- ing Trustees answered - Present ": Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Lams, and Mott. Absent: None; Vacancy: One. The meeting was then recessed so that the President and Board of Trustees could act as Board of Local Improvements. At 8:25 P.M. the meeting was reconvened to act as board of Trustees. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting held March 8, 1949. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the auestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried ""% and said minutes approved. The Treasurer's report for the period ending March 31, 1949 was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Bydal, that the Treasurer's report be approved as read and placed on file. The Presi- dent put the auestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said report approved. April 5, 1949 The motion was then made by Trustee Mott, 121 seconded by Lams, that the Special Assessment Report be placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bydal, that the bills as approved by the finance committee be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and bills approved for payment. The Clerk then read a letter dated March 31, 1949 objecting to the possible use of Sunset Park, in Lonnquist sub - division, as a playground area. The letter was signed by ten residents from the vicinity of the park. A letter dated April 5, 1949, from Axel Lonnquist regarding the intended use of Sunset Park end also Brookside Park, along Weller Creek, was then read. The Clerk then read a communication, dated March 28, 1949, from the Chicago and Northwestern Railway System, regarding the proposed crossing gates ,t- at Emerson Street showing estimated cost of 414,942.00. ~-` A "RESOLUTION FOR MAINTENANCE OF ARTERIAL STREETS OR STATE HIGHWAYS BY MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE MOTOR FUEL TAX LAW." No. 4 -49 was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the resolution be adopted. The Presi- dent put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said resolution adopted. The motion was made by Trustee Bydal, seconded by Bayne, that in accordance with the amended water ordinance the 45.00 deposit be refunded to consumers as listed by Water Rate Collector, March 31, 1949. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said deposits to be refunded. The Clerk then read a letter, dated April 5, 1949 from the Village Engineers on progress made to date on well number 4. Trustee Mott then read a letter from A. L. Roderick offering his services for annual audit of Village accounts. The letter was referred to Finance Committee. The motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bydal, that the appeal of Rend Building Corporation, dated February 23, 1949, for issuance of the nineteen building permits be denied thereby sustaining the Building Committee's previous action in rejecting the 19 permits based on non - conformance with the present building code as amended. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: Trustees: Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Lams, and Mott. Nays: None. Vacancy: One. Thereupon the Fresident declared the motion carried and appeal denied. The Clerk then read the following communication: April 5, 1949 1.22. March 12, 1949 Honorable Members Board of Trustees Village of Mount Prospect Gentlemen: To fill vacancies on the board of elections April 19 I hereby appoint Mrs. Edwin Lange to act as judge in Precinct 2 in place of Mrs. Al. Hedke, and Mrs. D.L. Roberts to act as Clerk in Precinct 1 in place of Mrs. Rudolph Stoelk. Your concurrence in these appointments is respectfully renuested. Very truly yours, M.B. Pendleton, President Village of Mount Prospect A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Bayne, that the appointments be concurred in. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a letter, dated March 30, 1949 from Arlington Heights National. Bank to which was attached Verification Certificate no. 53864 showing performance bond on improvements to Moehling's Pleasant Dale Subdivision to be in full force for an indefinite term. A letter, dated March 23, 1949, from Mount Prospect Country Club, regarding the building excavation on S. E. corner of Sha -Bonee Trail and See -Gwun Ave. and the rrmoval of fire hydrants from area to be used as part of golf course was then read. The matter of filling the open excavation had previously been decided on. The removal of fire hydrants was referred to the Judiciary Committee. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Lams, to keep the old Village Hall for Municipal purposes. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Hartwig, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
