„0„ The President and Board of Trustees
Village of Mt. Prospect
Mt. Prospect, Illinois
Gentlemen:
In response to a request from the Trustees of
the Library Board, the Plan Commission of Mt.
Prospect held a meeting at the Village Hall. on
Monday evening April llth, to review and pass on
the plans for the proposed Library to be located
at Emerson Street and Busse Avenue.
The proposed building meets with our approval
both in interior design and outside appearance,
U- however, two suggestions were offered in deference
to public safety.
1. Two additional fire exits should be provided
one at the west end and one at the east end
of the building. It would be possible to in-
corporate these exits into the large windows
at either end, without detracting from the
interior appearance or design. The doors
should be designed so as to open only from
the inside.
2. The roof construction should be entirely
fireproof and conform with the Village
Building Code on public buildings.
MVe understand these preliminary plans and
estimates were submitted for approval only as to
general plan, appearance, and costs, so as to en-
able the Board to submit a Brochure and plan to
the People of Mount Prospect for a special election
to be held sometime in the near future. If, by
election, public approval is obtained,a complete
set of plans and specifications will be submitted
to the Village Board for final approval.
The plans as submitted plus our suggestions
have the Commission's approval.
Yours very truly,
Plan Commission of Mt. Prospect
E. H. eleven, Secretary
