HomeMy WebLinkAbout09/27/1949 VB minutes 148 MINUTES OF A SPECIAL MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, SEPT. 27, 1949 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8 :00 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. Upon the roll being called the follow- ing Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Stoelk. Trustees Lams and Mott were absent at roll call. The following communications were then read: September 21, 1949 Mr. Robert F. Milligan Village Clerk Village of Mount Prospect Mount Prospect, Illinois Dear Sir: Will you please call a special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees to be held in the Village Hall Tuesday evening, September 27th at 8:00 o'clock The purpose of this meeting is to canvass the bal- lots of the Special Election, on Library Bonds Issue, to be held Tuesday September 27th and trans- act any other business that may properly come be- fore the Board. Mott - Rudolph Stoelk Gentlemen: �- Upon the direction of President Pendleton you are hereby notified that a special meeting of the Village Board of Trustees will be held on Tues- day, September 27th at 8 :00 P.M. The purpose of this meeting is to canvass the ballots of the Special Election (on Library Bonds Issue) to be held Tuesday, September 27th and transact any other business that may properly come before the Board. Very truly yours, Robert F. Milligan -Clerk The motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by. Bydal, that the votes cast, at the Special Election held September 27, be canvassed. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Mott arrived and took his place at 8:20 P.M. After the official canvass of the votes cast a "RESOLUTION CANVASSING THE RESULTS OF A SPECIAL ELECTION HELD SEPTEMBER 27TH, 1949 DECLARING THE RESULTS AND FINDING FACTS AS TO NOTICE AND BALLOT" (No. 14 -49) was then read by the Clerk. September 29, 1949 1[49 The motion was then made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Bayne that the resolution be adopted. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Mott, Stoelk. Nays: None. Absent: Trustee Lams. Thereupon the President declared the mo- tion carried and said resolution adopted and approved. A letter, dated September 23rd, from the Board of Commissioners of Cook County regarding tax forfeiture foreclosures on certain property in Mount Prospect was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Mott, that the Village attorney be authorized to appear for the Village and protest the method of foreclosure and the assessed valuation of property as shown on in- formation sheet for Tax Forfeiture Foreclosure I- 10046. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Lams took his place at 9:25 P.M. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams. to authorize the issuing of building permits, starting October 3, 1949, where there are existing sewer mains. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: Trustees: Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Lams, Mott. Nays: Trustee Stoelk. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A letter, dated Sept. 22, from Consoer, Town- send, & Associates on Memory Lane Sec. 4 -0S was then read. Se ptembe r 39, 1949 150 Resolution No. 15 -49 entitled: "RESOLUTION FOR IMPROVEMENT BY MUNICIPALITY UNDER THE MOTOR FUEL TAX LAW" was then read. (This resolution supercedes resolu- tion No. 12 -49 which was adopted Sept. 6, 1949) The motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Bayne, that the resolution be adopted. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There- upon the President declared the motion carried and said resolution adopted. A letter, dated Sept. 14, from the Village Engineers on Castle Heights Sewer & eater -R.J. Bluett m.s development -was then read. The matter was tabled for " future action, pending decision from State Sanitary Board. The Clerk then read a letter, dated Sept. 22, from Superior Home Builders regarding business license. The Clerk was directed to send a new application for license showing Chicago address of applicant. A motion was made by Trustee Stoelk, seconded by Bayne, to increase the salary of the Assistant Build- ing Supt. from $150.00 to 4185.00 per month effective as of October 1, 1949. The president put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Bydal, that the meeting be adiourned.
