MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT „ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY NOVEMBER 1, 1949
In the absence of President Pendleton the
meeting was called to order by the Village Clerk at
8 :15 P.M. The roll was then called and the follow-
ing Trustees answered "Present ": Bayne, Bydal,
Hartwig, Lams, Mott, and Stoelk.
A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Bayne Trustee Mott be elected as President Pro -
Tem. The Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the Clerk declared the
motion carried and Trustee Mott took the President's
chair.

The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular
meeting held October llth. A motion was made by Trustee
Hartwig, seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved
as read. The President tut the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said minutes approved.
A letter dated October. 27, from halter A.
Wischstadt, regarding the proposed theatre; was read
and placed on file.
The Clerk then presented Summons No. 49011830
(Circuit Court of Cook County) that had been served
October 22. x motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Bydal that the Village attorney be authorized to file �,►
an appearance and take such steps as are necessary to
protect the Village. The President put the question and
the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
The Clerk then presented Summons No. 49 011919
(Circuit Court of Cook County) that had been served
October 22. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig,
seconded by Lams, that the. Village attorney be authorized
to file an appearance and take such steps as are necessary
to protect the Village. The President put the Question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A letter dated October 19, from the Public
Service Co. of Northern Illinois acknowledging receipt
of reouest of October 13th for installation of 9 new
street lights was read and placed on file.
A letter and a revised bus schedule for North-
land Greyhound Lines was presented and referred to the
Judiciary committee.
A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Bayne, to change parking regulations and to authorize
angle parking, with e one hour time limit, along the north
side of Northwest Highway (Route 14) between Main St.
(Route 83) and Busse Ave. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following response:
Ayes: All.; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Stoelk, seconded
by Lams, to a.uthori%e the purchase of twelve flares for
use of Building Dept. and Street Dept. as needed. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
A letter, dated October 31, from Consoer,
Townsend, & Associates giving recent progress on No. 4
well and equipment was read and placed on file.
The following communication was then read:

Village of Mt. Prospect
Mt. Prospect, Ill.
Gentlemen:
In response to your request, the Planning Com-
mission on Thursday, October 20, 1949, reviewed the
letter of transmittal and Tracing and print of the
Subdivision known as Prospect Meadows, located at
Foundry Road and Rand Road, as submitted by Mr.

Frank O'Reilly attorney for Mr. Mark Horwitz,
Pres. of the Crown Realty Co. 188 4. Randolph St.
Cbgo., Ill. The plat has been carefully checked
by your Planning Commission and is recommended
for approval by the Village Board, subject to
and in compliance with the Mt. Prospect Village
Plan and Zoning Ordinance.
The tracing and Print have been signed by
the President and Secretary of the Planning
Commission.
Additional covenants covering Streets,
Water, Public Parks and other items not included
in the first plan submitted have now been entered
on the plan in accordance with our request.

Plan Commission of the

A letter, dated October 13, from Mr. Russell
Smith, President of Board of Education of School Dist.
No. 57, referring to the Proposed subdivision was
then read.
A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Lams, that the Plat of Subdivision, known as Pros-
pect Meadows, be approved as recommended by the Plan
Commission in their letter of October 21st. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A preliminary plat of a subdivision to be
known as Berkshire Lane was presented to the board.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne,
that the plat be referred to the Plan Commission for
their study and recommendation. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared
the motion carried and the plat was turned over to
Mr. Cleven, secretary of Plan Commission.
A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded
by Lams, that the Board accept the gift from the Mt.
Prospect Women's Club of a speaker's platform and
lectern for the Community Room of the Municipal Bldg.
and that the Clerk be instructed to write a letter of
thanks. The motion was voted upon by acclamation,
whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Dims, seconded by
Hartwig, to authorize the Village Attorney to file an
application to remove the land being developed as Lions x.
Memorial Park from public tax rolls. The motion was
voted uron bv acclamation whereupon the President
declared the motion carried. -
The motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Stoelk that the Clerk be instructed to write Mrs.
William Hector advising that the Community room in
the Municipal Building will not be available to rent
for dancing classes after January 1, 1950. The Fresi-
dent rut the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll .
with the following results: Aves: All; Nava: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made bv Trustee Bayne, seconded
bv Lams, that the Clerk be instructed to write the
Mount Prospect Men's Club thanking them for their
offer of use of card tables recently purchased. The
emotion was voted upon bv acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come
before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Bavne,
seconded by Hartwip., that the meeting be adjourned.
