HomeMy WebLinkAbout02/07/1950 VB minutes 168 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 1950 The meeting was celled to order by President Pendleton at 8:10 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present "; Bayne, Bydal, Hartwig, Lams, and Mott. Trustee Stoelk: No Answer. The Clerk then read the following Resolution No. 3 -50. February 7, 1950 169 A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Hartwig, that the resolution be adopted. The motion was voted upon.by acclamation, whereupon the iresident declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting held January 10, 190. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bayne, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Aves: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the } resident declared the motion carried and said minutes approved. The Clerk then rend summons No. 50CA53 from Circuit Court of Cook County: Tregne Buildinp Corpora - w.,, ti_on vs. Village of Mount Prospect. The summons was referred to the Judiciary Committee. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Bydal, to deny the petition to vacate lots 18 to 35 inclusive in Northwest Hills Country Club Subdivision as requested by Harold E. Willson and Utella Willson in their petition dated November. 29, 1949. The Presi- dent put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded U by Lams, to deny the petition to vacate lots 11 to 19 -�- inclusive in Block 24 Prospect Park Country Club Subdivision as requested by Harold E. Willson and Stella Willson in their petition dated November 29, 1949. The President nut the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a letter; dated February 7; from the Mount Prospect Public Library, to which was attached e copy of bond No. 8530932 in the amount of 44,000 covering Bertha T. Shard, library treasurer. two A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Mott, that the bond be accepted and that the Village Treasurer be instructed to release funds, from sale of Library bonds, to the Library Treasurer immediately. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. • The Clerk then read the following letter: February 3, 1950 Village of Mount Prospect Mount Prospect, Illinois Re: Albert L. Bouffard's Berkshire Lane Mount Prospect, Illinois Dear Sirs: This is a request to have the attached plot annexed to the Village of Mount Prospect as soon as possible, providing the Village will grant permission at this time to install a 10" water main south on Emerson to Berkshire Lane thence a 6" water main in Berkshire Lane with all valves, tees, and fire hydrants as per code for 10" and 6" water mains; water is to be furnished as soon as mains are completed. Very truly yours, Albert L. Bouffard Mr. Bouffard was referred to the Cook County Court. The following communication was then read. February 6, 1950 President and Board of Trustees ' Village of Mount Prospect Mount Prospect, Illinois February 7, 1950 17 0 Gentlemen: In response to your informal request of Oct. 28, 1949, the Planning Commission examined and reviewed the survey plat submitted by Mr. A.L. Bouffard for the "Berkshire Lane" subdivision. The first plat submitted did not meet with the commissions' approval due to the exclusion of various protective covenants and the lack of adenuate park and type and areas allocated for streets. The plat was returned to Mr. Bouffard on Nov. 9, 1949 for revision. The attached revised plat has been approved by the Planning Commission, and is recommended for approval by the Village Board, subject to and in compliance with the Village Plan and Zoning Ordinance. The Tracing and a copy of the print have been Polk signed by the President and Secretary of the Planning Commission. +..w+ Yours very truly, F.H. Cleven - Secretary Planning Commission of Mt. Prospect. The letter and plat were referred to the Judiciary committee for their study and recommendations. The Clerk then opened and read the bid, dated February 6, from Bruno K. Latzke, covering painting of various rooms in the Municipal Building. The bid was referred to the Building Committee for their study. A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Hartwig, to authorize the Public Parks and Grounds chairman to spend the sum of 4250 to obtain necessary survey to Prepare Lions Memorial Park for proper grading preparatory to partial landscaping. The President put the Question and the Clerk called the roll with the ' following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The motion was made by Trustee Bydal, seconded by Bayne, to authorize the President and Clerk to sign the contract for 4786.06 with Meade Elec. Co., dated February 6, 1950, covering the installation of street light which was demolished by a Cardinal Lines Bus on February 2, 1950. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Ali; Nays: None. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then rend the followi.n, communication: January 12, 1950 Village Board of Mt. Prospect Mount Prospect, Illinois Gentlemen: The members of the Fire Department at their January 5, 1950 mretinp accepted Robert Haberksmp as a member of the Fire Department. Poi A motion was made by Trustee HartwiP, seconded by Bydal, that the ar-rointment be concurred in. The motion .. was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A letter, dated January 6, from the Chicapo Federation of Aped and Adult Charities renuesting permission to tag in Mount Prospect on May 9th was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded by Isms, to grant permission to tag provided the day selected is the same day that they tag in 0 1 , icapo. The motion was voted uron by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. February 7, 1950 171 A letter, dated January 31, from the Mount Prospect Girl Scout Council thanking the Village Board for the use of the Community Room during 1949 was then read. The Clerk then read a letter, dated February 5th, from Mr. Walter Wischstadt giving the results of the post card survey regarding the proposed theatre and further stating that construction of the theatre would start at once. There being no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Hartwig, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. RESOLUTION No. 3-50 RUDOLPH Si. STOELK- MEMORIAL WHEREAS, Divine k 'rovidence, in its Infinite Wisdom has seen fit to call Village Trustee, RUDOLPH A. STOELK, to eternal rest on January 24, 1950; and WHEREAS. Trustee Stoelk was held in highest esteem by his fellow Trustees; and WHEREAS. his duties as a Trustee were invariably dis- charged in a most efficient and exemplary manner; BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of liount Prospect, that we memorialize the fine record of service of Trustee Stoelk in the conduct of his office and that we express the deep regret of this Board and our community upon the recent death of Trustee Stoelk; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that we extend to Mrs. Stoelk and to the other members of the bereaved family our sincerest sympathy and that a copy of this Resolution be delivered to Mrs. Stoelk.
