HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/14/1950 VB minutes 176 MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN ThE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, "MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 14, 1950 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 5:10 P.M. In the ebsence of the Village Clerk, Trustee Lams was appointed by the Chair to act as Clerk Pro -Tem. puma The roll was then called and the following Trustees answered "Present ": BAvne, Bydal, Hartwig, Lams, Mott, end Walker. Absent: None. The minutes of the regular meeting of March 7th were then reed. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Mott, that the minutes be ernroved As read. The President rut the nuestion and the roll was called with the following reeuite: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said minutes approved. The treasurer's report for the period ending February 2e, 1950 was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bydal, that the, report be erproved . as read and placed on file. The President rut the nuestion and the roll Tres called with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereuron the President declpred the motion carried. The motion was made by Trustee Bavne, seconded by Hartwig that the Special Assessments report be placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded Bvdal , that the bills es arrroved by the Finance Committee be approved for reyment. The President put the question and the roll was called with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. Communications, dated February 24, 1950, from General Services Administration District Engineer and March 6th from Village Engineers regarding G.S.A. Application Illinois 11 -P -1025 were then read. March 14, 1950 A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded- 1 by Hartwig, that the Village Board extend priority to the Lonnquist Gardens Relief Sewers as covered in G.S.A. application Illinois 11 -P -1024 and that the Clerk be instructed to write a letter informing General Services Administration of same. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereuron the President declared the motion carried. A communication, dated March 6th, from Illinois X Department of Public Health arr- rovingâ–ş plans and specifi- cations for Castle Heights -Est water main extensions was then read. A letter dated March 13th, from Feehanvill e Drainage District Commissioner together with e copy of Order- General No. 60014 - County Court of Cook County repardirp sewers in Castle Heights Fast were then read. The motion was then made by Trustee Walker, seconded by Bayne, that permits be issued by the Village for the sewer and water extersior_s in Castle Heights Fast as covered by Plans and Specifications of Village Engineers. The President rut the question and the roll was called with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereuror, the President declared the motion carried. `- A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Walker, to approve the Rehire Lpne Sub Division Plat sub iect to the corrections of Plat to conform to the Viila.e Plan with reference to streets and sidewelks. The President put the question and the roll was called with the followinp results: Ayes: All; Nave: None. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Bvdal, secorded by Mott, to authorize the rurchase of a new fire siren at cost of $475.00, with necessary additional expense to place in orcrstion, to be Maid for out of the ar.rrorrietion for the fiscal year 1950 -1951. The President put the ruestion and the roll was called with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There- upon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Bvdal, seconded by Walker, that in accordance with the amended water ordinance the $5.00 water deposit be refunded to users as listed by Water Rate Collector February 28, 1950. The President put the nuestion and the roll was called with the following results: Ayes: Al] Nays: None. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried end refunds authorized. Summons No. 50 C 2189, dated MarchiO, Circuit Court of Cook County was then read. The Village attorney was instructed to file an appearance and take necessary steps to rrotect the Village. ORDINANCE NO. 321 "AN ORDINANCE LIMITING PARKING OF VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS" was then read. A motion was made bin Trustee Mott, seconded Ow* by Hartwig, that the ordinance he gassed es amended. The President rut the ruuestion and the roll was called with the followinp. response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said ordinance passed- and approved. A motion was made by Trustee Walker, seconded by Hartwig, that. the Rand Building Corporation be granted permits to build the twelve houses for which permit applications have been made and also subsequent houses in the area of Castle Heights East Sub Division with the following variations of the Mount Prospect Building Code: March 14, 1950 178 1. The ground floor areas of all houses in said area to be not less than as follows end to be suptorted by covenants in deeds covering the property: (a) One story dwelling 900 sq. ft. (b) One and one -half story dwelling 800 sq. ft. (c) Two story dwelling 520 sq. ft. 2. Four foot sidewalks at building line. 3. No waterproofing around the foundation walls of buildings. 4. No drain tile around footings. 5. Substitution of copper for lead water pipes. But that and in all other respects the Mount Prospect Building Code will be adhered to. The President put the question and the roll was called with the follow - ing response: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Hartwig, Lams, Mott, and Walker; Nays: Trustee Bydal. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting e motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. /
