MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON WEDNESDAY, JULY 5, 1950
The meeting was called to order by President
Pendleton at 8:30 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed
to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees
July 5, 1950
I - 94 answered Present: Bydal, Lams, Mott and Walker.
Trustees Hartwig and Bayne were absent on roll call.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the
regular meeting held on June 13, 1950. A motion was
made by Trustee Walker., seconded by Lams, that the
minutes be approved as read. The President put the
question and the Clerk called the roll with the follow-
ing results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried and minutes
approved.
Trustee Bayne arrived and took his Place
at 9:00 P.M.
The Clerk then read the annual report of the
Mount Prospect Public Library Board. A motion was made %Jo
by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bvdal, that the report be
arproved and placed on file. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.
The Clerk then read in full Ordinance No. 324
entitled: "THE ANNUAL APPROPRIATION BILL OF THE VILLAGE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, FOR THE FISCAL
YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1950 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1951."
A motion was then made by Trustee Mott,
seconded by Lams, that the ordinance be passed. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following response: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Bydal,
Lams, Mott and Walker. Nays: None. Absent: Trustee
Hartwig. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said ordinance passed and approved.
The Clerk then read in full Judge B.A.
Roeth's opinion, in the Tregne Building Corporation's
suit against the Village, declaring in favor of the
Village.
The Clerk then read Summons 5005866 Circuit
Court of Cook County, the People of the State of Illinois .+
vs. William Garland, Trustee et al.
A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Bvdal, that the Village attorney be instructed to
file an appearance on behalf of the Village. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read the following letter:
June 19, 1950
Mr, M.B. Pendleton, Mayor
Village of Mount Prospect
Mount Prospect, Illinois
Dear Sir:
We take pleasure in attaching our check in
the amount of *150.00 to be applied toward the
Purchase or construction of a foot bridge over
Weller Creek for use by the school children of
Lincoln School starting September 1950.
We hope this donation will make it possible
to start this bridge immediately in order to insure
completion in adequate time.

A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Walker, that the Clerk be instructed to write a letter
of thanks to the Sunset Park Community Association. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.

The following communication was then read.
July 5, 1950
Village Board
Mount Prospect, Illinois
Gentlemen:
Permission is requested to erect a temporary
building on property described in applicbtion
for permit. Rough sketch accompanying, shows
building to be of Cape Cod design, painted
white, with black roof.
No plumbing will be installed. Electrical
outlets and lights will be furnished by licensed
electrician.

A motion was made by Trustee Walker,
seconded by Bayne, to deny the requested permit for
e temporary structure and that the Clerk be instructed
to write the owner of lot 54 in Morningside Gardens,
Mr. Harry. Schmidt, that if a permit for a permanent
structure is desired plans should be submitted to
the Building Committee for study and approval. The
U- motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come
before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Bayne,
seconded by Lams, that the meeting be adjourned. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried and the meeting
regularly adjourned.
