MINUTES OF A REGULAR M:rETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSiECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 14, 195
The meeting was called to order bv President
' Pendleton at 8:15 P.M. and the Clerk was the directed
to call the roll.
;,» On roll call the following trustees answered
"Present": Bydal, Lams. Mott and Walker. Absent:
Trustees Bayne end Hartwig.

.^� The meeting was then recessed to act as
the Board of Locel Improvements.
The meeting was reconvened nt 8:50 P.M.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the
regular meeting held November 7th.
A motion was mode bv Trustee Walker, seconded
by Lams, that the minutes be approved as reed. The Presi -
dent put the question and the Clerk called the roll with
the followinP results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried end said minutes
approved.
The Treasurer's report for the period ending
October 31., 1950 was then read.
A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by
Bydal, that the report be approved and placed on file.
The President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following^ response: Ayes: A)1; Nays: None.
Thereupon the }resident declared the motion carried.
The motion was made by Trustee Bydal, seconded
by Walker, that the Special Assessments Report be accepted
and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclama-
tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by
Lams, that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee
be approved for Payment. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the president declared
the motion carried.
A motion was made bv Trustee Walker, seconded
by Mott, that the Villape be instructed to write the
Village Engineers advising that ell orders to set grade
stakes for sidewalk construction must originate through
the Village Board, end throu*h Village Treasurer, and that
any other proceedure will not be acceptable to the Village
Board. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon
the President declared the motion carried.

216 The motion was then made by Trustee Mott,
seconded by Walker that rest due hills; es submitted
by the Village Engineers, in the amount of approximately
$50.00 for setting of grade stakes for sidewalks; be
nr.rroved for payment. jhe President put the nuestion
end the Clerk called the roll with the following
resronse: Ayes: All; Nays: NBne. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Mott then presented ''tete of Illinois -
Division of Highways- Audit Report No. 6 on Motor Fuel
Tex Funds for period January 1, 1950 to August 15, 1950.
This report was Tleced on file.
A motion was .made by Trustee Talker, seconded
by Bvdal, to suthor.ize the Public Service Co. of Northern
Illinois to install e street li pht on Busse Avenue be- %Ad,
tween School Street and Elm Street, and also at the
intersection of Elmhurst Road snd Sunset Boulevard. The
President rut the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: A11; Nsys: None. There_
upon the President declared the notion carried.
The Clerk then read a letter dated November 13,
1950, from the Village Engineers to S.B. Geiger and Co.
on "Correcting and Placing in Satisfactory Operating
Condition the Well Pumping Unit for New Well at Waverly
Place and Thsyer Street."
A motion was made by Trustee Bvdal, seconded by
Lams, to authorize transmittal of the letter to S.B.
Geiger snd Co. The motion was voted upon by acclamation,
whereuron the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was rude by Trustee Bydal, seconded
by Walker, that in accordance with the amended water
ordinance, the $5.00 water deposit be refunded to
nunlified consumers as listed by Water Rate Collector
October 31, 1950. The President put the nuestion and
the Clerk celled the roll with the following result:
Ayes; All; Nays: None. Thereupon the Fresid ent declared
the motion carried and refunds authorized.
The Clerk then reed a letter, dated. October 20,
1950 from the Village Engineers, on Emerson Street and
Northwest Highway Traffic Signals and Crossing Gates.
The letter was plseed on file.
A summons from the Circuit Court of cook
County: "The People of the �'tate of I'.linois vs. .crank
C. Bascomb et al ", was then read.
The motion was made by Trustee Lens, seconded
by Mott, to authorize the Village attorney to file an
appeerence. The motion was voted upon by acclamation
whereuron the President declared the motion carried.
Summons No. 50S18568 from Superior Court of
Cook County: "William E. Kunkel, et al vs. Village of
Mount Prosreet e municipal corporation ", was then reed.
A motion was made by Trustee 1pdal, seconded
by Mott, to authorize the Village attorney to file an
enpesren_ee end answer. The motion was voted upon by
scclemetion, whereuron the President declered the ^*
motion carried.
The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 333 entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSI= ;CT
ZONING ORDINANCE AS AMENDED."
The motion was made by Trustee Lame seconded
by Bydal, that the ordinance be passed. The p resident
rut the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: All; Neys: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried and said ordinance
passed and approved.

A motion was made by Trustee Lars, seconded
bv Walker, to authorize the Village attorney to appear
before the County Tax Committee November 17, 1950 on
various' Special tissessmer_t Foreclosure sales. The
motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
Trustee Lams, Secretary of the Board of Local
Improvement's then Presented: "RECOMMENDATION AND ESTIMATE
OF COST FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ELMHURST ROAD, RUSSELL
STREET AND OTHER STREETS WITHIN THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT
PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS."
The Clerk then read Ordinance number SA0 -51
entitled: "AN ORDINANCE FOR THE IMPROVEMENT OF ELMHURST
ROAD, RUSSELL STREET AND OTHER STREETS WITHIN THE VILLAGE
OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS, BY GRADING,
CURBING AND PAVING, ETC., INCLUJDING THE COST OF FURNISHING
ALL LABOR, EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS."
..,b The motion was then made by Trustee Mott, seconded
by Bydal, that the ordinance be passed. The President put
the question and the Clerk called the roll with the follow-
ing results: Ayes: Trustees Bydal, Lams, Mott, Walker:
Nays: None. Absent: Trustees Bayne and Hartwig. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried and said
ordinance passed and approved.
U Trustee Mott then presented Surety Bond No. N- 127164
issued bv The Home Indemnity Co. in the amount of 020,000
covering Vi_lage Treasurer, Herman Hine.
A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by
Lams, to approve the Bond. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before
the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Walker, seconded
by Bydal, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
