MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, DECEMBER l?, 1950
The meeting was called to order by President
Pendleton at 8:05 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed
to call the roll.
Upon roll cell the followinp trustees answered
"Present: Bayne, Blydal, Hartwig, Lams, Mntt, and Walker.
"Absent ": None.
The meeting was then recessed so that the
Board of Trustees could act as the Board of Local
Improvements.
The meeting wns reconvened at 8:10 F.M.
The Clerk then rend the minutes of the regular
meeting held December 5. A motion was then made by
Trustee Bvdel., seconded by Walker, thet the minutes be

approved as read. The President put the question and21 9
the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes; all: Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion on Carr. i ed and said minutes approved.
The Treasurer's report for ther,eriod ending
November. 70, 1950, was then read. A motion was made by
Trustee Mott, seconded by Lens, that the Treasurer's
report be approved and rleced on file. The President
put the r.uestion and the Clerk called the roll with the
following resronse: Ayes: A11; Neys: None. `thereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Hartwig, that the Special Assessments report be approved
and placed on file. The motion was voted uron by eccleme-
`' tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The motion was made by 'Trustee Mott, seconded
by Hartwig, to arrrove the bills as approved by the Finance
Committee. The President put the question and the Clerk
celled the roll with the following results: .dyes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said hills errroved for payment.
The clerk then read resolution No. 15 -50
rertsining to Long k nge Road Program, House Bill No
P20 of the 66th General Assembly.
A motion was made by Trustee Hartwig, seconded
by Lams that the resolution be adopter?. The President
put the question end the Clerk called the roll with the
.‹C following resronse: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried and said
resolution adopted.
The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Walker, that a discount of 50d be allowed on Vehicle
Tax if paid on or before March 1, 1951. The President
put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: Al].; Nays: None. Thereupon the
`"""' President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Bydal, to instruct the Clerk to write to the Chicago
end Northwestern Railway Company in answer to their letter
of October 4, 1950, and to authorize the Railway Company
to place orders for the necessary materiels required for
the installation of Crossing Gates, etc., et the Emerson
Street Crossing. The transmission of this letter to the
Railway Compenv is to be contingent uron the receipt from
the Stete of Illinois, Division of Highways, of approval
of the agreement between the Northwestern Railway
Company and the Vil1epe of Mount Prospect, covering the
installation of the crossing pates at Emerson Street.
The motion ves voted uron by ecel.arnetion, where-
upon the 'resident declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Hartwig, that in accordance with rest custom, the
Village furnish free vehicle stickers for the veer 1951
to Village Employees, members of the Fire Department,
and members of the Village Board of Trustees. The motion
was voted uron by acclamation, whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.

A motion was made by Trustee Bydal, seconded by
Walker, to authorize the payment of 01 000.00 to the
Chemical Ennipment Co. of California as partial payment on
the purchase of the Chlorinating equipment which hes been
received for use at No. 4 well. The President put the
nuestion and the Clerk celled the roll with the following
results: Ayes: Trustees Bydal, Hsr_twip, Lams, Mott, and
Walker. Navy: Trustee Bayne. Thereupon the President de-
clared the motion carried end said payment euthorized.

A motion was made by T rustee Lams, seconded
by Bayne, to authorize the Public Service Company of
Northern Illinois to install a street light at the
intersection of George Street and Northwest hiphway.
The President rut the cuestion and the Clerk celled
the roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees
Bayne, Bvdel, Hartwig, Lards, Mott. Nays: Trustee Walker.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by PIMP], to authorize the purchase of a new siren for
the roliee sound car fora sum not to exceed $F0.00.
The President rut the question end the Clerk called the
roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Bydal,
Lams, Mott, Walker, Nays: Trustees Bayne, h rtwip.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and
srhid purchase nuthori7ed.
The Clerk then read a letter dated December 7
from the Villa'e Engineers recommending that Frenzel
Brothers be paid all but 2% of final contrtct costs
for the paving in Memory Lane, Section 4 -CS. The motion
was than made by Trustee Welker, seconded by hertwi.g,
that payment be authorized ns recommended by the
Village Enei.neers. The President rut the r.uestion and
the Clerk celled the roll with the following results:
Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion eer.ri.ed.
The Clerk then read a letter dated December 6,
from the Vi 1lege Engineers reperdirg raving (Rand Bldg.
Corp. Development) in �Merson Street from Grepory to
Highland, in Memory Lnne and Highland Avenue from Mein
St. to the heck line of lots on the East side of Emerson
Street. I bis letter was rleced or for action to
he token in the Sprit'' of 1951.
The Clerk then read n letter, dated December 11,
from Mrs. R.E. Thompson regerdinp a co!r_:r1ei.nt on the 0.11%
service rendered by the Geisen Cab Company. The Clerk
wes instructed to answer the letter and place on file.
There being no further business to come before
the rreetinP, e motion wss made by Trustee Mott, seconded
by Lams, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion wes
voted uron by acclamation, whereuron the resident
declared the motion carried and meeting resu1erly
adjourned.
