HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/13/1951 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUST EES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT 1-ROSFECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, MARCH 13, 1951 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8 :10 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed U- to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present ": Bayne, Bydal, Lams, Mott and Walker. Trustee Hartwig was absent. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting held March 6. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Mott, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said minutes approved. The Clerk then read the Treasurer's report for the period ending February 28, 1951. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bydal, that the report be approved and placed on file. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that the bills es approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following_ results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said bills approved for payment. Mr. Philip Planalp, Landau and Perlman property manager, then presented two petitions signed by the tenants of the stores in the Mount Prospect Park and Shop development. One petition requested that the existing parking ordinance for restricting parking along Prospect Avenue in front of the shopping district be enforced, and the other petition requested permission to have a driveway across the parkway on Prospect Avenue between Elmhurst Road and N1lille Street. These petitions were referred to Committee for action. A motion was then made by Trustee Bydal, seconded by Walker, that in accordance with the amended water ordinance, the 45.00 water deposit be refunded to qualified consumers, as listed by water matte Commissioner February 28, 1951. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: all; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said refunds authorized. March 13, 1951 230 The Clerk then read a letter dated March 8 from the Division of Highways in answer to resolution pertaining to the re- routing of Route 83 around the Village. The Clerk then read proposed Senate Bill No. 19 of the 67th General Assembly entitled "AN ACT CREATING A GREATER CHICAGO COM}ISSION, DEFINING ITS POWERS AND DUTIES, AND MAKING AN APPROPRIATION THEREFOR'; The Clerk then read Resolution No. 6 -51 entitled "A RESOLUTION PERTAINING TO THE PROPOSED IN- CREASE IN GASOLINE TAX" A motion was then made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that the resolution ,,,, be adopted. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, Whereupon the President declared the motion carried and said resolution adopted. A motion was then made by 'Trustee Mott, seconded by Lams, that the village Board accept the recommendation of the Judiciary Committee that the Federal Rent Control be left in Status quo until June 70, 1951. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bydal, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted uron by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried end the meeting regularly adjourned. /.
