HomeMy WebLinkAbout04/10/1951 VB minutes // MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, APRIL 10, 1951 The meeting was called to order by President soul Pendleton at 8:05 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Bydal, Lams, IViott, and Walker. Trustee Hartwig was absent. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting held April 7. A motion was made by Trustee Walker, seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved es read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the }resident declared the motion carried and said minutes ap ^roved. April 10, 1951 The Clerk then read the T'reasurer's report 233 for the period ending March :A1, 1951. The motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bydal, that the Treasurer's rer,ort be anrroved and rlaced on file. the President put the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The motion was then ivy de by Trustee Lams, seconded by 4alker, that the Special Assessments repo -t be placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclama- tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Mott, seconded by Bayne, that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All_; Nays: None. The Clerk then read the petition sinned by 67 residents from the ere located South of Weller Greek, said petition relating facts reper.dirg traffic hazards South of Yeller Creek and giving certein recommendetions to help correct hazards as listed. The Clerk was instructed to send a copy of the petition with e letter to the State of Illinois, Surerintendent of Highways. The Clerk then read e letter dated March 19, 1951 from the Mount Prospect PTA, trensmitting 4200.00 �- representinp cart of the expenses for cost of patrol duty at two crossings on Houte 8, and also outlining whet the PTA expects in the way of crossing protection for the next school veer. The Clerk was instructed to write the PTA, thanking them for the 4200.00 and advising the PTA that the crossing protection could only be rrovided for next school veer if the necessary funds are obtained through an errronriation and tax levy for the year. ending Arril. 70,1952 The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 741 entitled "AN ORDINANCE RI +,PEALING SECTION 64 AND AMENDING SECTIONS 67 AND 69 OF CHAPTER VI OF THE MOUNT PROSPECT BUILDING CODE OF 197F". A motion was made by Trustee Vialker seconded by Bayne, that the ordinance be rassed. The President rut the nuestion and the Clerk celled the roll with the following results: Axes: All; Nears: None. Thereuron the President declared the notion carried and said ordinence pe ssed and erproved. The Clerk then reed Ordinance No. 742 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE LICENSING AND REGULATING THE BUSINESS OF ERECTING AND MAINTAINING BILL BOARDS AND SIGN BOARDS." The motion was then made by 'Trustee de1ker, seconded by Bydal, that the Ordinance be passed. The President nut the nuestion end the Clerk celled the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried and said ordinance passed end arrroved. A motion was then made by Trustee aelker, seconded by Lams, that the 45.00 fee he .refunded on Building_ Permits No 2199 and 2200 upon the cancellation of r.ermits by building ir.srector. The President rut the nuestion and the Clerk celled the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried end said refunds authorized. The Clerk then reed a letter dated Arril 9, 1951 from S.B. Geiger & Comrenv regarding the oreretion of the pump for No. 4 well, and also Mr. Don Peterson's comments dated April 10 regarding Mr. Geiger's letter. This rnetter was referred to the Chairmen of the viater Committee for further comments by 0.B. Geiger. & Co, and the village Engineers. April 10. 195m 234 The motion was then made by Trustee Bvdal, seconded by Walker, that in accordance with the amended water ordinance, the $5,00 water derosit be refunded mualified consumers ns listed by eater Rate Collector March 71, 1951. . The President put the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereunon the President de- clared the motion carried and said refunds authorized. The Clerk then read e letter dated Arril 5, 1951 from Marvin E. Wodike renuesting that the Village institute foreclosure rroceedings covering delinnuent srecial eseessrents and taxes on Lots 274, 249, 76, 72 and 5e in H. Roy Barry Company's Colonial + +nor — Subdivision. This renuest was referred to the Judiciary Committee. The Clerk then read a rronosed ordinance amending the WATER WORKS SYSTEM ORDINANCE by charging a fee for hook -on rri vi 1. rge for new customers. '-chi s proposed ordinance was referred to the Judiciary committee for their study. The Clerk then read letters dated March 26,1951 end Anril 5, 1951 From the Illinois Commerce Commission, and a letter dated April 17, 1951 from the Village of Arlington Heights, regarding resolution No. 7 -51, Pertaining to the inndenuete service rendered by the Crieego, and Northwestern Railway Comrenv. A letter from Mrs. Besender was then read, acknowledging receipt of and thanking the Village Board for the resolution which it passed as e memorial to the late Inge Besender. The Clerk then read e letter from Mount Prospect Post 1777 VFW reouesting permission to hold Memorial Day service in front of the Village Hall. the Clerk was instructed to acknowledge the letter and inform the VFW that permission would be granted. A letter from the City Manager of Park Ridge .4 regarding their new fully autometic pumping station control and extending en invitation for env interested parties to inspect this installation was then read. There being no Further business to come before the meeting, e motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by 'Welker, that the meeting be ad,iourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereuron the President declared the motion carried end the meeting regularly ad ourned. .
