MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE IRESIDliTNT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTIES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 14, 1:51
The meeting was culled to order by President
Pendleton at 6:20 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed
to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees
answered "Present": Bayne, Ibbotson, Larns, Viger. ...r
Absent: Trustee Brown. Vacancy: One.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the meeting
held August 7. A motion was made by Trustee Ibbotson,
seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved as read.
The President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the fo11owinp results: Ayes: All; Nuys: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The meeting was then opened for public hearing
on the proposed gas station in the northwest corner of
Emerson St. and Northwest Highway. The following citizens
of Mount Prospect appeared and offered their objection
to the proposed gas station: Mr. Verne Smith; Mr. Albert
Siech; Mrs Burde Payne; Mrs. Hobert L. Fontaine; Mr. i win
Busse: Mr. Fansick. Mr. F.J. Smith of the Texas Company
anreered end Broke on behalf of the Texas Company building
of the proposed aes station. The matter of prentinp the
remit was referred beck to the Building Committee. yr.
Smith asked for an additional heerinr on this matter.
The Treasurer's report for the reriod ending
July 7 1, 1951 was then read. The motion was made by "
Trustee Lams, seconded ! r Viper, that the report be
errroved and placed on file. The President put the
nuestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following
response: Ayes: All.; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Ibbotson, that the Special Assessr -ents Report be
approved and placed on file. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the eras; dint, declared the
motion carried.
Au gust 14, 1951
A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded 251_
by Ibbotson, that the bills for July, 1951, . as approved
by the Finance Committee, be approved for payment. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by 'Trustee Lams, seconded
by Bayne, that bid No. 1, as submitted by Erwin A. Giemsoe,
in the amount of 4414.00 for painting of the exterior of
the Municipal Building be accepted. The resident put
the question and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
e ,., President declared the motion carried.
The following communication was then read:

The Village Board of Mt. Prose ect
Village H811
Mt. Prospect, Illinois
Gentlemen:
You are hereby requested to bring Tax Lien
foreclosure Proceedings against the property and
premises namely:
Lot 11 in Block 8 in Prospect lark Country
Club subdivision, being a subdivision of the
t- Southeast quarter of section 11 end the South
15 acres of the East half of Northeast quarter
of Section 11, all in Township 41 North, Binge
11, East of the Third Principal Meridian, in
Cook County, Illinois.
The general taxes have all been paid.
The drainage benefits will be cleaned up
concurrently.
r" The writer will produce a bidder of not less
than 35% of the principal amount unpaid, and do
hereby agree further to pay all costs and attorney's
fees, including the sum of 45.00 for making distribution.

This matter was referred to the Judiciary Committee.
The Clerk then read Summons No. 51-S-13764 and
51 -S -13765, Superior Court of Cook County. The motion
was .made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams, that the
Village Attorney be instructed to file an appearance on
behalf of the Village, on or before September 3, 1951.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
president declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 348 entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 164 AS AMENDED"
(Water Works System Ordinance). motion was then made
by Trustee Bayne seconded by Ibbotson that the ordinance
be passed. The President put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
rft carried and said ordinance passed and approved.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viper, seconded
by Bayne, that in accordance with the amended water ordinance
the :5.00 water deposit be refunded to qualified consumers
as listed by water rate collector July 31, 1951. The
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read resolution No. 13-51,
"SUFI- LEMENTAL RESOLUTION FOR IMPROVEMENT BY MUNICIPALITY
UNDER THE MOTOR FUEL TAX LAW."

2 5 2 The motion was then made by Trustee Lams,
seconded by Bayne, that the resolution be adopted.
The President put the question and the Clerk called
the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays:
none. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried and said resolution passed and approved.
The Clerk then read the following communica-
tion from the Village Engineers:

Re: Memory Lane
M.F.T. Section 4 -CS
Gentlemen:
The writer today inspected the catch basins
constructed by Frenzel Brothers as a part of
this improvement. The basins now hold water
sufficient to maintain a as seal.
We therefore recommend that this job be accepted
and all monies due be paid. This section was
inspected by the State on August 25, 1950 and
accepted.
The total contract amount was 48,147. 34
according to the Final Payment Estimate approved
by the State. Our files indicate 07,237.12
has been pain to Frenzel Brothers.

The following letter was then read:

Dear Sir:
As per your letter of July 10, 1951, we agree
that we will comply with the Village Plan and
zoning Ordinance in regard to the planting of
trees, which is in the parkway and which shall
not be more than 50 feet apart. vie also agree
to use Maple or American Elm for this planting.
Ne further egree that we will out up street signs
of an approved type.
Finally, we will be glad to include in our
restrictions that no entrances on the Northwest
Highway will be permitted. However, we expect
to include this language in our restrictions
rather than putting in on our plat.

The Clerk was instructed to make photostat
and attach to approved plat of subdivision.
There being no further business to come before
the meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Lams, that the Meeting be adjourned. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President
declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly
adjourned.
