MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE FHESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES HELD IN ThE MUNICIkAL
BUILDING, MOUNT kROSI ECT, ILLINOIS
TUESDAY, JANUARY 8, 1952
The meeting was called to order by rresident
Pendleton at 8 :15 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to
call the roll. On roll call the following trustees answered
"Present ": Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, and Viger. Trustee
Brown was absent.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular
meeting held January 2. A motion was then made by Trustee
Lams, seconded by Lange, that the minutes be approved as
read. The President put the question and the Clerk called
the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and
said minutes approved.

The Treasurer's report for the period ending
December 31, 1951 was then read. A motion was made by
Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the report be approved
and placed on file. The President put question and the
Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Ali;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Ibbotson, that the Special Assessments report be approved
and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclama-
tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Lange, that the bids for the north of December as
approved by the Finance Committee he approved for payment.
The President rut the question end the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried and said
bills approved for payment.
A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded
by Lange, that Mount Prospect vehicle sticker for 1952 be
Issued without charge to Mr. Joseph Knuth of 2 S. Edwa
Street, w is a double amputee from World War II, The mm
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the fol owinpa results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read the following communication
from the Mount Prospect Zoning Commission, under date of
January ?, 1952:
"The Zoning Commission of Mt. Prospect, Illinois
met on January 4, 1952 at a public hearing in the
village Hall.

"The Property under petition is a 25.6 acre parcel .
south of the NWRR right -of -way. It Adjoins the
east bounder,/ of the Lions Memorial Perk end the
south boundary is the vi.l cape Limits. The Property
is now classified es residential.
"'!'fge Lonirp Commission is of the opinion that the
rezoning to I -1, light industrial should be allowed.
The vote was three for, one epsinst, one not voting.
"While use of this property does not, properly
speaking, come within the scope of responsibilities
of this commission, we respectfully urge consideration
be given to the following opinions designed to promote
orderly development of our town.
"Since the Park constitutes s buffer between the
proposed industrial and r.esidentisl sections, it is
lopical that the rarth limits of the park be extended
to the railroed.
"The south limits of the village ought to be exterded
-- to Weller Creek to forestall any plans to erect
buildir..ps outside the limits and thus avoid village
taxation."
This letter was referred to the Judieinry
Committee for their study.
The Clerk then read n Letter dated Jnnuery 4
front, S.B. Grriger & Co. reperdirp payment on the hslence
due for the No. 4 well. Tris matter was referred red to the
Water Committee for their study.
The following communicotion from Johr F. Beesley
Construction Co. under date of December le ayes ther read:
"Regordinp our proposal of October 1 end your letter
of October 3, 1951, we wish to teke this time to
express our regret the t we have beer unable to do 4- his
work due to poor weather conditions. Please be advised
``` that our nuotatior_ will stand as nuoted and we w i l l
proceed with this work immediately upon favorable
weather conditions in the early srrin ► of 1952.
"For your information the writer discussed the condition
of your tower with both our superintendent end the
superintendent of the h. Knudson Wompany, who will do
the actual work, end both parties advised that there
should be no concern on the part of the Viilape Board
if this work is postponed until the spring, es their
found that the cordition of tr.e tower ryas not too
serious. We add the above eornmert only es ncsur. ance
to frog And do hope you will forgive us, but
conditions were beyond our control."

The Clerk ther read the following comrnuricetinr
from President Pendleton under (Intr. of December s:
"To fill a vacancy I hereby anoint Mr. Wm. T. Mott
to fill the unexpired term of Mr. Wm. Mortimer es
Chairman of the Mt. Prospect Zoninp Board of 9Dpeals.
"Your concurrence in this appointment is respectfully
reouested."
A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Lams, that the appointment he concurred in. The motion was
voted upon by ccclamstion, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
There being no further business to core before the
meeting, a motion was made bpi `..ustee viper, seconded by
Lange, that the meetinp be sd retrned. The r^otion was voted
upon by acclsmttion, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried end the meeting regularly adjourned.
