HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/03/1952 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR Mr STING OF THE ERESIDENT AID BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, EOUNT I ILLINOIS /— ON TUESDAY, JUNE 3, 1952. The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8:10 r.M. The clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following 'Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, and ViRer. Trustee Brown was absent. The Clerk then read the minutes of the r.epular meeting of May 17. The motion was made by Trustee Ibbotson, seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: 1x11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The following letter was then read: May 22, 1952 Dear Sir: As a civic organization interested in community welfare and betterment, the Ariinpton Heiphts Junior 4om.en's Club wishes to award 4100 to the Lion's Memorial lark in a way most beneficial to the community. Mrs. Virginia Heverly 1 dent A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded. by Bayne, that the donation be acknowledped and that a letter of thanks be written to the Arlington heights JunioV• Women's club. the motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the notion carried. The meeting was reeeEsed at 8:50 F.N. and reconvened at 9:10 I.M. A letter dated May 27th, from Mount Prospect Ilan Commission repardirg Moehli.ng's proposed new subdivision, south of Council Trail, was then read. The communication was referred to committee pending receipt of a revised plat. The Clerk then read a letter dated June 2, from Mr. +M .W. Bicknose, reparding the use of the property at the Northeast corner of Elm and Northwest Hi_phway as a used car lot, under the name of Prospect Motors, Inc. The Clerk was instructed to write Mr. Bicknase that the property is not zoned for use as a used car lot and for this reason the renuest is denied. June 3, 1952 294 A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams, that the Tillage Hoard register an objection to the re- toning of one and one -half acres located on the northwesterly corner of Rand Road and Memory Lane (if extended) in Wheeling Township, from R -3 classification to B -1 business classification, and that a letter of objection be written to the County Clerk of Cook County with a copy to the Goring Board of Appeals of Conk County. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the president declared the motion carried. The following Summons were then read: No. 52 C 6047, 52 C 5520, Circuit Court of Cook County; and No. 52 S 7070 Superior Court of Cook County. The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Isms, that the Village Attorney be authorized and instructed to file an answer or appear on behalf of the Village in each case. The emotion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the president declared the motion carried. Summons No. 52 C 5627 Circuit Court of Cobk County was then read. The motion was mode by Trustee Fiume, seconded b' Lange, that the Village Attorney be authorized to file an appearance in answer to end . defend any action against the Village. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 764, entitled: "AN O1RDINANCE p KOIiI13ITIi G T'iiL LITTERING CF STREETS, ALLEYS, SIDEWALKS, AND HU}3LIC i YS." The motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded by LPrge, that the Ordinance be passed. The presi- dent rut the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance passed and approved. The following communication was then read: May 19, 1952 VillePe of Mt. Prospect Village Hall Mt. Prospect, Illinois Attention: Mr. Maurice B. Pendleton President, Village Board. Gentlemen: It is with deep regret that I find it necessary to tender my resignation as e member of the Village Board. My busine hadquarters have ben e moved New York, an d the e majority of my time will be to spent in traveling which will make it impossible for me to continue as a Board Member. I will, however, retein my home in Mt. Prospect. I enjoyed my association with the members of the Board and hope that at some future date, I may again have the oprortunity to participate in Village activities. Cordially yours, James T. Brown. The motion was rode by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams, that Trustee Brown's resignation, be accented with regret. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Ire: ident declared thn motion carried. There be nv no further business the notion was made by Trustee Viper, seconded by Bayne, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclemetinn, whereupon the president declared the motion carried end the meeting regularly adjourned.
