HomeMy WebLinkAbout06/10/1952 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 1952 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at R:10 P.M. The Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll Bail the following Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson_, Lams, Lange, and Viper, Absent: None. Vmoaney: One, The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting of June : , 1952. `rhe motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Lange, that the minutes be arrroved as read. The President nut the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Aves: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read the Treasurer's report for the period ending May :'1st 1952. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Viper, that the report be approved and placed on file. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the President hhefollowing results: Ayes: All Nays: None. declared the motion carried. The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Ibbotson, that the Special Assessments Fund Report be approved and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Lrms A motion was made by , seconded by Ibbotson, that the bills for the month of May, es arrroved by the Finance. Committee be a.pr_.roved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a proposal from Milburn PA. 4 ' 1 '1 Bros. Inc., dated June 10th, for the surface treating / of Hi -Lusi Ave. from the south line of Lincoln Ave. to the north line of L%ouncil Trail; for the sung of eighteen hundred dollars (#1,800). The motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Lanpe, that the proposal be accepted, and the work to include the lowering of two man -hole castings, for an additional sum of sixty dollars (060) The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The followinP communication was then reed: June 10, 1952 President and Board of Trustees Village of Mt. Prospect Gentlemen: JU; ='. On May 27 I returned a preliminary plat of ,c4,/ Council `frail )states Sub - Division, recommending certain chanpes for the final plat. Attached is the final plat submitted by Mr. Moehling for aprroval. The recommendations suggested have been incorporated in the plan except for the following. 1. The Building line has been omitted on the south side of Council Trail and north side of Berkshire Lane. On the south side of Berkshire Lane, the west side of lot 4 and east side of lot 1 also should show the buildine line. 2. No provision for curbs, sidewalks, or planting of trees has been indicated. T$1is should be included in case the plat is annexed to the Village. 7. As mentioned in our letter. of Mav 27, the streets, sewer end water have been shown on the plat, althouPh no measurements are shown except for streets. June 10, 1952 9t With corrections indicated above, and subject to the Village plan requirement', the plat meets with our approval. As soon as the corrections have been made we will approve the plat. The owner of this property hes a wonderful opportunity of making this section of the village a desirable home location, and it is to his advantage to maintain above average restrictions. Cleven, ''ecretary The Clerk then read a letter dated June 10th from the Village Attorney regarding the question of furnishing water for Moehlinps Council Trail Estates proposed sub - division. The Clerk then read Ordinance No 765 entitled: AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING PARKING BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 2 :00 A.M. AND 6:00 A.M.'' The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the Ordinance be passed. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes. all: Nays: None. Thereupon the 'resident declared the motion carried and said Ordinance passed and approved. The Clerk then read a letter dated June 9 from Mr. W.W. Bicknase, regarding proposed Used Car lot at N.E. corner of Elmhurst Ave. and N.W. Highway. Tht,s letter was referred to -the Judiciary Committee for their study. The motion was then made by Trustee Viper, seconded by Bayne, that in accordance with the emended water ordinance the $5.00 water deposit be refunded to qualified consumers as listed by water rate collector May :1st. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The annual report of the Mount Prospect Public Library for the year ending April 70th, 1952 together with requests for snpropriations for the year =ending April 30th, 1953 was then read. T he motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the report be approved and placed on file. Lhe motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 366 entitled: ORDINANCE MAKING Ar1ROFRItTIONS TO DEFRAY THE 1+ OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT FOR MUNICIPAL PURPOSES, DESIGNATED AS THE "ANNUAL AP1R0- PRIATION BILL" FOR THE PERIOD BEGINNING MAY 1, 1952 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1953. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Lams, that the Ordinance be passed. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: Trustees: Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, and Viger; Nays: None; Absent None; Vacancy: One. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said Ordinance passed and approved. The motion was made by Trustee Lams, 4 � � seconded by Lange, that final payment in the amount e^' of nine hundred ten dollars and twenty -two cents M e , ($910.22) be made to r renzel Bros. for the paving of v- Memory Memory Lane. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the lresident declared the motion carried. June 10, 1952 - The motion was made by Trustee Viger ii 297 ff ladows gteda vis `onons to show the water stubs six feet from the property line instead of four feet as called for on the original plans. The motion was voted upon by acclama- tion, whereupon the }resident declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a letter dated June 6th from the Mayor of DesPlaines regarding Metropolitan District Water 'ompany proposed Lake Michigan water supplyfbr municipalities along Northwest Highway. The Clerk was instructed to acknowledge the letter and inform the Mavor of DesPlaines that the Water Committee would be interested in attending a meeting' at time And place suitable to all parties concerned. There being no further business to come before the meeting' a motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and meeting' regularly adjourned.
