for establishing the escrow account at the Exchange National Bank

Motion ca,tied.
Mr. Roy Swenson of the Insumance Committee informed Insurance
the Board of new suggestions that had been incorporated into
the specifications for the coming year's insurance, giving cre-
dit to the committee and to Finance Director King for their
work preparing these specifications. President Schlaver also
informed the Board-that this Village had been able to aid the
Village of Mundelein preparing thei~ insurance bids; Mr. King
added that Mundelein had been able to save $4000.
Trustee Phillips, seconded by T~ustee Busse, moved to
approve the insurance specifications as amended.

T~ustee Casterline read letter of April 6 to Mr. Harold
Appleby from Walter Hodel of Consoer, To~rnsend & Associates re MFT 20CS
MFT 20CS, transmitting plans and specs for paving improvements on
various streets along with estimate of cost.
Trustee Caste~line, seconded by T~ustee Bergen moved that plan and
specifications for the 1954 MFT Program (Section 20 CS) be approved
as presented and that the Village Clerk be authorized and directed
to advertise for bids thereon as soon as State approval is received.

Traffic
DESIGNATING THE NORTHWEST CORNER OF BRENTWOOD AND
FOUNDRY, SOUTHEAST CORNER OF WHEELING AND EUCLID,
AND THE SOUTHEAST CORNER OF CRABTREE AND EUCLID
AS STOP INTERSECTIONS, AMENDING SEC. 18.201 OF THE
MUNICIPAL CODE OF MOUNT PROSPECT.

Police T~ustee Busse gave report for the Police Department;
some men are takir~ examinations to be sent to FBI School, other
men are taking special training in Chicago with bureaus of the
Chicago Police Department, detective Work, ~etc.
Fire Station Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Busse, moved
No. 2 to approve the plans and specifications for Fil~e Station #2 as
submitted by Architec~ Swanson.

that the Village Manager be directed to secure bids for erection
of Fire Station #2 in accordsnce with the above mentio~e~ speci-
fications, said bids to be opened at 8:00~P.M., April 28th.

Zoning - Trustee Bergen reported that his Building Committee had
Wille Lumber met with Mr. Wille regarding the two model garages on Wille L~mber
Co. property, and stated that Mr. Wille had indicated willingness
to petition for B-3 zoning from present~I-1 so that this will no
longer he in violation.
Building Memo from Engineer Ben Hemmeter recommending adoption
of Evanston Plumbing Code was referred ~o the Building Committee.
Village Hall Manager Ap~leby announced that the telephone system will
telephone be swi%ched over to a common switchboard aa of the next week.
J.T.Builders Plat of J. T. Builders industrial suhdivislon outside of
Industrial Sub. the Village limits was referred to the Plan Commission for their
recommendation.
Mr. Appleby inquired of the Board their wishes re~arding
Charity permission for Mental Health to hold bell-ringer drive.
Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Bergen, moved ~hat the
Village Manager should send a reply to ~he effect that the Village
is not scheduling solicitation times other than for those drives
listed with the Combined Appeal, This mo~ion carried by acclamation.
County Mr. Appleby gave County Zoning hearing report, bringing
Zoning up the question of erection of gasoline station at Foundry and Wolf
Roads (Docket 713) and its possible seepage near gas storage across
the road.

to this zoning on grounds of spot zoning ( surrounded hy
residential zoning).

Mr. Appleby also reported re Case 714, request for County Zoning
change from B-3 to B-4 at Camp McDonald and Rte. 83, stating
there were a number of objectors from Prospect Heights.
Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Casterline, moved to
object to this zoning.

Annexation
AN ORDINANCE ANNEXING AREA KNOWN AS COLONIAL Colonial Heights
HEIGHTS AND ADDITIONS 1 AND 2 TO THE VILLAGE
and tha~ the President and Clerk sign this ordinance. This
annexation was at the petition of residents living therein and
was approved by Judge Adesko.

Attorney Hofer~thanked the many people who remembered Attorney
