Trustee Bergen gave report regarding house at 310 Hatlen Avenue sinking into peat bog, refer~ed to the Engineem and his Bldg. Committee, stating that the owner, Arthur Michael~ had been given Engineer until June 30th to put this house into good repaim or tea~ it down. Mr. Michael informed Mr. Bergen that he is selling the house and that the haw owner intends to comply with this provision. Trustee Bergen reported that the Amchitectural Committee Signs recommended allowing sign variation to Johnson Soft Wa~er Company at 1024 East Northwest Highway; this firm wished to move thei~ old sign to a new position, facing the other way. To do this it would be necessary to attach it to the roof. Trustee Bergen~ seconded by T~ustee Casterline, moved that the Johnson Soft Water Company be given variation under Sec. 930~E "no signs on roofs" to allow erection of this sign at 102~ E. Northwest Highway. This motion carried by ~cclamation. T~ustee Ekren read report from Zoning Board re Case 6~-1 Zoning for the reco~d, as this case was completed at the January 7 meeting~ and moved to concu~ with the~ecommendation eho~a% themein. Prospect This was a request by the Village for rezoning from pres- ent R-A to B-3 of a lot 80 x 150 ft. fronting on Golf Road about 2S8 feet east of Golf and Busse intersection, south side of Golf, and a request by the Village for Pezoning contingent upon annexa= tion from R-1 to B-S of the rear portion of a lot 75 x 64 feet con- tiguous to the above-described property on its southwest border. Trustee Phillips referred to proposal dated January 8, Water 1964 made by Greeley & Hansen, Engineers, of 14 E. Jackson, Chicago, to submit study and report on the feasibility of securing Chi0ago water for the Village either through a separate contract with the City of Chicago or through some form of joint arranEement with Des ~" Plaineso Trustee Phillips~ seconded,by Trustee Ekren, moved to hire the firm of Greeley 6 Hansen to give an independent study regarding the water supply situation as dgscribed above. Trustee Casterline, seconded by Trustee Bergen, moved for 'passage of Ord. 950: Ord. 950 S.A. #63 AN ORDINANCE FOR THE MAKING OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENT NO. 63 PREPARED AND TRANSMITTED AND ITS PASSAGE RECOMMENDED BY THE BOARD OF LOCAL IMPROVEMENTS OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, ,ILLINOIS, TO THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF SAID VILLAGE PROVIDING FOR LOCAL IMPROVEMENT ON KENILWORTH AVENUE AND OTMER STREETS. January 1~, 1964 Traffic Trustee Casterline referred to Traffic Study Report given last Thursday night by Consolidated T~affic Survey, pre- sided over by Trustee John Bickley,* stating that Trustee *Bickley had done a very commendable job~ that cou~t reporter had taken comments from members in the audience to be given to Mm. Gross of Consolidated Traffic Survey, to be made available to interested parties. Mr. Appleby reported that he had just come from a County County Zoning Zoning hearing regarding appeal for rezoning to business by Mr. Vivirito to set up lamp manufacturing outlet on Rand Road next to the Stanton property. Mr. Appleby stated he could see.no objection to this. Tmustee Ekren read the following report from the Plan Commission: Elk Ridge Villa Jan. lB, 1964 Unit #5 "On February 1i, 1963 the Plan Commission voted to recom- mend the approval of Elk Ridge Villa Unit #5 to the Village Board for its approval, subject to the showing thereon of utility ease- ments for street lights between Lots #253 and #254, between Lots #270 and #271, between Lots #290 and #291, and easterly through Lot #298 substantially on a line of the line between Lots #291 and #290 extended easterly. "The easements requested by the Plan Co~nission have been added to the final plat of said Elk Ridge Villa Unit #5 and the Plan Commission therefore recommends its approval tO the Village Board. "Your attention is invited to the size of Lot #298, the north line of Which is 168.23 ft. long, the east and west lines 462 ft. long, and the southerly line 167.45 ft. long. Lot #299 is 157.48 ft. on its north line, 60.33 ft. on its east tine, 167.42 ft. on its south line and 61.29 ft. on its west line. These lots are of an unusual dimension in an.area zoned RA." Commerce Commission Village Attorney Hofe~t to hire Mr. Paul Johnson of Consoer, Town- __ send & Associates, Engineers, as expe~t witness if needed, in case to come before Illinois Commerce Commission~rega~ding rates charged by Citizens Utility Company. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bruhl Bergen Casterline Ekmen Phillips Absent: Bickley Motion camried. January 14, 1954 M~s. Lester Ayres of 409 Dale arose, stating she had read Trustees in the newspaper that Mr. George R. Busse was being considered as appointee to replace Trustee Bickley, who was consideming resigning because of campaign pressures in his bid for nomination as States Attorney. M~s. Ayres stated she thought that inasmuch as Mr. Busse is in the real estate business theme might be a conflict of interests if he took a seat as a T~ustee. Mr. Geomge R. Busse was present, and replied that he saw no conflict, that he was not interested in the Village insurance business, had not sold real estate to the Village for quite some time, and stated that if any case should arise in- volving his business dealings, he would abstain from a vote, just the same as anyother trustee does in the same circumstances. Mr. Salvatore Di Mucci Jr. asked about plat of Elk Ridge Elk Ridg~ Villa Uni~ 6 under consideration by' the Plan Commission, and Presi- Villa dent Schlaver replied that there was no change since the last Board Unit 6 meeting, that this would be given ~ecommendation after the Plan Commission meeting of January 20 and that street iayou~ in view of proposed school sites is to be considered.
