Trustee Phillips, seconded by T~ustee Bruhl, moved to ope~ bids, this motion carried by acclamation. The bids were accordingly opened and read, as shown in list on fol- lowing page. Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Busse, moved that the bids be referred to the Village Engineer for his study and recommendation, for report at the next meeting. Prospect at~ended League the Illinois Municipal League Convention in Chicago, which had its~ la~es~ attendance, nearly 30005 Mayor Herbert Behrel of Des Plaines has been elected Vice President of the League~ C. O. Schlaver has been re-elected one of the Vice Presiden~s$ our Village Attorney took part in one of the panels. T~ustee Bruhl reported that Mr. Jerry Shutt of the Fire & Police Commission was elected State President of that o~Eanizatlon. The following letter was received from the Public Works Highway Administration, Division of Highways, as follows: Division Traffic September 24, lg64 Mr. B. H. Hemmeter Engineer, Village of Mt. Prospect Dear Mr. Hemmeter: Re: TRAFFIC DZSIGN, Traffic Control ILL. 83 Man Street - (Elmhurst Road) (FAS 128, CH 13) and G~.ego~. Stree~ In our letter of September 14, 1964, we wrote that we were asking ' our Springfield office to make a final'determination on whether or not a traffic signal installation could be justified at the ~ ~" subject intersection. SeptembeP 29, 196~ We arehappy to be able to inform you that we have just received Traffic a letter from Springfield concurring with our.recommendation that Gregory & 83 the volumes at this location so nearly meet the established warrant that a signal installation can be permitted. Therefore, we shall approve a Motor Fuel Tax resolution, or a letter 'of application for a permit, from your Village to make a signal installati6n at this intersection~ The installation should be of the full traffic actuated type, with three signal faces for each vehicle approach, and pedestrian signal faces and push buttons for at leas~ one crosswalk croasi~.Ill. 88. However, signalization of both crosswalks crossing Ill. 83 is strongly recommended, and of. crosswalks crossing Gregory Street would be approved. Engineer, Operations Fiaance Director Jim King informed the Board that funds for this improvement would have to come from the next year's MFT as the monies for this year are all allocated. T~ustee B~uhl, seconded by Trustee Bergen, moved to authorize Consoer, Townsend & Associates to prepare plans for signal light as above d~e~ribed at R~.83 and Gregory. Trustee Phillips, seconded by Trustee Busse, moved to pay WaZer FleeTwood Contractors the sum of $500 due th~ from Division D, Sup- Division D plementary Contract. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bergen Bruhl Busse Ekren Phillips Motion ~arried. Trustee Bergen reported that Mack Cadillac on Rand Road had been required to cut the height of steel pylons holding their , signs sign~ tha~ he felt that their light standard was too high and would l~ke an amendment to the Building Code restr~ctin~ the ~ight of light standards. Trustee Bergen also reported that Di Mucci Bmild- ers had submitted plans for apartments to be erected along Cottonwood Lane, drawn up to conform to R-~ standards in effect before the last amendment, claiming that these apartments wpuld come under the old code because the land in question was zoned R-~ at that tlme; the ArchitecturAl Co~m~ittee feels it is not able to approve these plans. Referred To Assistant to Manager Bob Heinrich: Matter of Easements settlement with School District 59 re-easements around Robert Frost School for walkways and other needs. September 29, 1964 Zoning Trustee Ekren read the following report from the Zoning Case 64-13 Board re Zoning case 6~-13~ Petitioner: Salvatore Di Mucci, heard March 20, 1968 This was a request for rezoningfrom R-1 to B-3, contingent upon. annexation of property located at ~05 West Golf Road. At the public hearing held March 20, 196~ the petitioner, Mrs. Salvatore Di Mucci, asked to amend his petition requesting rezonin~ from R-1 to B-1 shopping Center,.therehy..~grading his rezonlng request. This met with unanimous approval of the Zoning Board of Appeals. The Board of Appeals voted $-0 to grant the rezoning request as amended. There were no objectors.~ E. F. Martin, Chairman H. H. Ross, Acting Secretary Trustee Ekren, seconded by Trustee Busse, moved to direct the Vil- lage Attorney to prepare the necesaary ordinance of annexation for property at ~05 West Golf Road. Upon Roll call: Byes: Bruhl Busse Ekren Phillips Nays: Bergen · Absent: Casterline Motion carried. Trustee Ekren, seconded hy Trustee Busse, moved that the Village Attorney prepare the necessary ordinance to zone the above- mentioned property to B-1. Upon roll call: Ayes: Bruhl Busse Ekren Phillips Nays: Bergen Absent: Casterline Motion carried. Trustee Busse reported that in the Police Department one Police officer had completed the homicide course from the Police Academy on his own time, one completed the law course, three are attending the University of Illinois and four are attending school in Glen- view in November. Trustee Ekren reported that the Curtis Farm property had Annexations been annexed hy Arlington Heights; our Village had hired planner Baug?mann To draw up plans for this area, which are now ready. These plans might possibly he put to use if the Di Mucci company is succes~ sful in bid for disannexation. President Schlaver asked the members to meet at 7:30 the next Tuesday night to discuss th~ matter. Adjourr~ent by acclamation at 9:10 P.M.
