HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/05/1952 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING 301 OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS TUESDAY, AUGUST 5, 1952 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 9 :25 P.M. The Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present" Bayne, Ibbotson, lams, Lange, and Wilson. Absent: Trustee Viper. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting held July 8th. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Ibbotson, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The minutes of a Special Meeting held July 22nd, were then read. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Wilson, that the minutes be . approved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read the following letter pertaining to the Besander petition for vacation of an alley. .. July 31, 1952 To: The Members of the board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois Gentlemen: My Client desires that I withdraw my petition of July 18th 1952, with respect to the real estate noted in the said petition as amended. Will you please comply with this request. Very truly yours, Marvin E. Wodika The following communication was then read: July 11, 1952 The President and. The Board c f Trus tee s Mt. Prospect, Illinois Gentlemen: I am the owner of lots 15, 16, and 17 in Prospect Manor Subdivision, further described as the Northwest corner of Prospect Manor and Northwest Highway with frontage of 119.14 feet on Northwest Highway and 123.10 feet on Prospect Manor in Mt. Prospect, Illinois Please consider this letter a request for the re- zoning of the above described property to its former status described as B -1 under Section 9 of the Cook County Zoning Ordinance. I would greatly appreciate an early consideration of this request. Yours truly, K.R. Whitton The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams, The request was se voted upon by rred to t zoning c acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A communication was then read from Mrs. Mary Ruth Hilligoss- Schmidt requesting the Board's opinion on the possibility of approval for the establishment of an undertaking parlor at either 210 S. Main St. or 117 S. Maple. The motion was made by Trustee Lans, seconded by Bayne, that the request for permission to overate an undertaking parlor at either of the above addresses be denied. The motion was voted upon by acclenetion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. August 5, 1952 302 Trustee Bayne, then read the opinion of Judge Elmer J. Schnackenberp in the case General No 52C5623 Circuit Court of Cook County regarding the suit against the Village for re- zoning of the northwest corner of Golf Road and Elmhurst Road, in which the Judge upheld the present 7oninp, as residential, in favor of the Village. ' A revised plat of Council Trail Estates Sub - L P ,� `division was then presented. A motion was made by Trustee 1 Bayne, seconded by Lams, that this plat be referred to the Plan Commission for their study and comments. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the president declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, by Lams, that Superior Home Builders be refunded all deposits that were paid except building perrait fees, on permits Nurnbered 2104, 2107, 2122, and 2123 issued for homes that were never built. The President put the question end the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting, the motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Wilson, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the Presi- dent declared the motion carried and meeting regularly adjourned.
