HomeMy WebLinkAbout08/18/1952 VB minutes 30` MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS ON MONDAY, AUGUST 18, 1952. The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at P:20 P.M. and. the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson, Lange, and uiilson. Trustees Lams and Viger were absent. The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular meeting of August 5th. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Wilson, that the minutes be apuroved as read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All: Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. August 18, 1952 The minutes of the meeting of August 12th 4 30 3 were then read. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the minutes he arproved es read. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results; Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the Fresident declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Wilson, to refer the matter of naming the Section of the divided street (WP-Pella Ave. south of Lincoln and east of the park, at the intersection of Go -Wandq and Wa- Pella) to the Plan Commission for their study. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by Lame, to repeal the motion passed November 17, 1951, regarding the advancement of Police Officers by competitive examination. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: none. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The motion was then made by Trustee Nlilson, seconded by Lange, that Officer Krenot be appointed as a Sergeant in the Police Department until April 70th, 1953. The President put the question end the Clerk called the roll • with the following results: Ayes: Trustees F3ayne, Ibbotson, Lange, and Wilson, and President Pendleton. Nays: None. Absent: Trustees Lams, and Viger. Thereuron the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read the Treasurer's report for the period ending July 70th, 1952. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Ibbotson, that the report be approved and placed on file. the President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the 'resident declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Wilson, that the Srecial Assessment Report be arrroved and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Ibbotson, that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee for the month of July be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the 45.00 water deposit be refunded to qualified consumers as listed by the Water Rate Collector July 37.st. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereuron the 'resident declared the motion carried.. The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 769 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE LEVY AND COLLECTION OF TAXES FOR CORPORATE AND MUNICIPAL PURPOSES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT FUR THE FISCAL YEAR BEGINNING MAY 1, 1952 AND ENDING APRIL 30, 1953." A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Nilson, that the Ordinance be passed. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Ibbotson, Lange, and Wilson. Nays: None. Absent: Trustees Lams and Viger. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and said Ordinance passed and approved. The following communication was then read: August 9, 1952 President and Board of Trustees Village of Mount Prospect. Gentlemen: I am returning the corrected and approved plat of Council Trail Estates Subdivision. The revisions 3 0 4 have been made in accordance with our letter of June 10, 0-''` 1952. the proper building line setbacks have been ,0= '-)inserted and other provisions, such as sidewalks, trees, �, curbs, are shown. ,,�. We are of the opinion that with proper building checks and supervision, homes in this desirable location will prove a real asset to Mount Prospect. Yours very truly, Mt. Prospect Plan Comm. S.W. A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Ibbotson, that the plat for the Council 'Trail Estates Subdivision be approved, subject to the posting of a bond in the amount of fourteen thousand do]Iars($14,000) covering street improvements. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared . the. motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange to grant a permit to Mr Moehling for the instal- lation of water mains in Council frail Lstates Subdivision, as anr.,roved by the &tete of Illinois Department of Public Health, on the Date of August 4th, 1952, aprroval No. 208 1952. The President put the question and the Clerk cared the roll with the following results: Ayes: A11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lsnpe, seconded by Ibbotson, to grant the Lions Club permission to block off Evergreen and Maple Streets, in the vicinity of the Municipal Building, during the annual Festival. -the motion was voted uron by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to came before the meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried, and the meeting regularly adjourned.
