Absent: Non The Clerk then reel the minutes of the rPPU 1 a.r maetir,a held Tueadnv September 9th. A motion was made by Trustee Viper, secorded by Lnms, that the minutes be ervroved as reed. The President rut the question ard the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nevs: N, Thereupon the President declered the motion cnrried. The Clerk then read the following Petition sipped by P4 residents of. Mount Prosrect: Hon. M.B. Pendleton anti Membere of the Vi11ape Bonrd of Trustees, Mount Prosrect, Illinois A survey of traffic conditions covering the intersection et Busse and Main Street on Seturdev, discloses n denPerous situetion. Traffic hes become so heavy that the urder.aipred feel thet meesures other than Present methods should be taken to Protect the lives of our. residents. We, the undersipned, hereby feel that, to the best irterests of our people e r.ol cer!en he stationed et the above named intersection each Saturdnv, at least throuPh the hours between F: :40 A, M, and 4:00 P.M. This natter was referred to the Police Committee for study. The following letter was then read: October 7, 1952 Sept. 26, 1952 307 Dear Mr. Lams: I am enclosing our check for 4500.00 to pay for tables and grills purchased by the Village of Mount Prospect for Lions Memorial Park. Ne will advise later as to how we wish to have the remainder allocated. The Women's Club wished to thank you personally for your efforts in carrying out our plans so adeuately. Sincerely (Mrs H.F.) Ruth Anderson Corresponding Sec. Mt. Prospect Women's Club A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Lange, that the Clerk be instructed to acknowledge the letter with thanks. The motion was voted upon by acclama- tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Lams. seconded by Ibbotson, that Mr. Lawrence Henseleit, of 3 5. Louis St. be paid the sum of fifty dollars ($50.00) for sidewalk repairs, taken care of by this owner, and said sum being the amount deposited by contractor and forfeited. The President put the nuestion and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All: Nays: None. There- upon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Ibbotson. that the Fire Department be given permission to install, under proper supervision, a siren on No. 2 pump house. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was then made by Trustee Ibbotson, seconded by Viger, that a letter of thanks be sent to Mr. Anthony Koske, for furnishing his equipment and for the work done by him in excavating for the new Pine Street garage. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, where- upon the President declared the motion carried. The following Resolution was then read: Whereas September 30, 1952, is the 20th anniversary of service to the Village of Mount Prospect by Polige Chief George L. Whittenberg, it is only fitting and proper that the Board of Trustees takes recognition of this event. Whereas Chief Whittenberg's complete devotion to his job has won for him the respect and esteem of the entire community, he has rightfully become a cornerstone in the administration of our local government. Whereas Chief Whittenbera has demonstrated an exceptional degree of ability to administer our community's ordinances and needs, it is indeed to our Village's good fortune to have such an outstanding man in the position of Police Chief. Be it hereby resolved that the Village Board of Mount Prospect and its President extend to Chief L. Whittenberg their unanimous thanks and appreciation for the able job he has done during the past 20 years and to wish him many more years of good health and service to the people of our community. Passed this 7th day of October in 1952 AD. A motion was then made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by Viger, that the Resolution be adopted. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and Resolution adopted. The motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded try Lange, that the Public Service Co. of Northern Illinois be authorized to install a str-et -light at Memory Lane and Russell Street. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the motion carried. October 7, 1952 3 00 The Clerk then read Resolution No. 6 -52: "RESOLUTION FOR Iloa-ROYIAMENT BY MUNICIPALITY UNDER T± 1i1 MuTOk FUEL TAX LAW." The motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Bayne, that the Resolution be adorned. The President rut the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: ayes: All: NAvg: N There- upon the President declared the motion carried. The following communication was then read: Sept. 27, 1952 Board of Trustees Village of Mt. Prospect Gentlemen: The 7onnP Commission held a public hearing on September 19, 1952 to consider re- »oning lots 15, 16, 17 in Prospect Manor subdivision from R -1 to B, These lots ar.e on the corner of Northwest Hiahwav and Prospect Manor Ave. While considerable oprosition was exrressed by adjacent property owners to the re- zoning, neither the petitioner nor his representative appeared to support the request. The Zoning Commission recommends. therefore, that the re- zoning of these lots be not allowed. Apr. - N.S. Falkenger, Chairman E.F. Martin, Sec. The Clerk then read a letter dated October 6, 1952 and signed by three property owners in the vicinity of lots 15, 16, and 17 of Block 22, in l rospect Manor Sub_ Division, reruesting that the Petition for re- zoning be denied. The motion was then made by T,.ustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, to concur in the findings of the Zoning Commission end that the petition f'or re- zoning b? denied. The Presi- dent rut the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: A11; Nays: N„re. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Lange, that Arthur T. McIntosh and Sons be informed that the Board of Trustees desire that the original Plans and specifications be adhered to reRardinp the paving in Northwest Meadows Subdivision. The motion was voted upon by acclamation whereuron the President deelcrPri the motion carried. The Clerk then_ read a letter from the Chicago Federation of Aged and Adult Charities requesting Per- mission to hold Taa DPV in Mt. Prospect, on Tuesadv Ivlao 12th, 1957. Tentative permission was granted, with the understanding thet the new Board of Trustees, taking office in Mn-, i would have to grant final permission. There being no "urther business to come before the meeting a .motion was made by Trustee LAma. seconded by Viper, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by Acclamation, whereuron the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. October 14. lgcn
