HomeMy WebLinkAbout11/11/1952 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR :MEETING 31 1 OF T'h ; IRE ILENT AND BOARD OF TRUbT ES, hELD IN ThE MU1'' iCIIAL BUILDING, MOUNT b OSIECT, ILLINOIS TUESDAY, NOVEMBER 11, 1.952 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at F:15 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange and Wilson. Trustee Viper was absent on roll call. The Clerk then read the minutes of the meeting held November 5th. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Wilson, that the minutes be approved as read. The President put the Question. and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the Fresident declared the motion carried. Trustee Viper arrived and took his place at 8:25 F.M. The Treasurer's Report for the period ending October :1st was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Wilson, that the Report be approved and placed on file. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A notion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded -t by Lange, that the Special Assessments Report be approved and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by accla- r'� mation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A notion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Viper, that the bills for the month of October, as approved by the Finance Committee, be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. • Thereupon -the President declared the motion Berried. The motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Viper, that in accordance with custom of previous years, free Village Vehicle license ° be authorized for Members of. Board of Trustees, Villape employees, and Members of the Fire Department. =also that free license be issued to Joseph Knuth, 2 8. idward St. and Stanley J. Reese, 800 S. Elmhurst, who are double amputee veterans of World War II. The } put the question and the Clerk called the roll. with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Bayne, that the Audit Report of Village 4 +ater Works Fund as submitted by G. William Moore, for the fiscal year ended July :1st, 1952, be approved and placed on file. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There- upon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read Ordinance 371 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION IV OF ORDINANCE NO. 30 -A" A motior, was made by Trustee Bayne, secorded by Wilsor., that the Ordinance be ressed. Thereupon the }resident declared the motier carried end said Ordinance ressed and e rrrovpd. motion was rrede by Trustee Bavne, seconded by Viper, to reject the supplemental cortrect submitted by the Barrington Trucking, Inc. for gerbaee removal. The motion was voted upon br acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The following communication was then read: November 11, 1952 312 Nov. 5, 1952 President and Board of Trustees of The Vi l la pe of. Mount Prospect: I hereby request that the followinp described rronerty (117 South Maple Street) be re -zoned from its Present zoni rp R -1 to that of B -Bu si ne ss. Lepel Descrirtion:- Lot N ;ne (A) anc? the north ten feet of Lot ten (10) the North ter fort of Lot eleven (11) and North ten feet of Lot twelve (12) and the west twelve feet of the North 10 feet of Lot thirteen (17) in block eleven (11) in Busse and Wille's Re- subdivision in Mount Prospect in the west half of Section Twelve (12) Town forty- one(41) North, Range eleven (11) East of the Third Principnl Meridian, also known as 117 South Maple Street, Mount Erosrect, Illinois. This request is being Trade to permit me to operate a fuheral parlor in my house. To fascil.itate operations the attached sketches show a proposed addition to the ex;stinp structure. Carroll The motion was then_ made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the request he referred to the Zoning Com- mission. T hF motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a letter dated November 7th from H.Y. Cornell, renuestinp refund of eipht hundred thirty eight dollars end ninety cents ($87P.90) which sum had been raid to the Village Treasurer for various unsaid Special Assessments on Warrants No. 18 and No. 14. The Clerk was directed to inform hir. Cornell that the Villnpe Trustees have no authority to return money that had been collected for Special ssessments. The motion was then made by Trustee Viper, secorded by Payne, that in accordance with the amended Water Ordinance, the $5.00 water deposit be refunded to nuelified consumers as listed by viater Rate Collector October 71, 1952. The President put the euestion and the Clerk called the roll with the followinp response Ayes: all: Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motior. carried. There bean' no further business to come before the meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Wi1-on, secorded by Lan *e, that the meetir' he ed,iourned.
