MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
TUESDAY, MARCH 3, 1953.
The meeting was called to order by President
u. Pendleton at 8:30 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to
call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees
answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, Viger,
and Wilson. Absent: None.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the regular
meeting held February 10th. A motion was made by Trustee
Lange, seconded by Lams, that the minutes be approved as
read. The President put the question and the Clerk called
the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Mr. Lewis, of Consoer, Townsend, and Associates,
then presented Plans and Specifications, for Contract No. 1
of 1953 Water Works Improvements. A motion was then made
by Trustee Viger, seconded by Lams, that these plans and
specifications.be accepted. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following response:

the motion carried. �. <<<
A motion was then made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Wilson, that the Clerk be authorized to advertize for
bids, returnable Monday, March 16th, at 8:00 P.M., covering
work specified in contract No. 1 of 1953 Water Works
Improvements. The President put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Ibbotson, seconded
by Lams, that the plans for St. Raymond's School be referred
to the Plan Commission for their study and recommendations.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
Summons 53S 2372, Superior Court of Cook County,
was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Lams, to authorize the Village Attorney to file an
appearance on behalf of the Village. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the Pre declared the
motion carried.
SummonA 53C 2300, Circuit Court of Cook County,
was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded
by Lange, to authorize the Village Attorney to file an
appearance on behalf of the Village. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.

.A notice from Zoning Board of Appeals of Cook
County, regarding an application for a variation from
Zoning Ordinance of Cook County involving approximately
47.84 acres located adjacent to the N.E. corner of the
Village, was then read. motion was made by Trustee
Bayne, seconded by Lams, to authorize the Village Attorney
to appear at the hearing March 13th, to defend the Village
and object to granting the variation requested. The motion
was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Trustee Bayne, then read a letter, dated February
2 3, 1953, from Turner, Hunt, and DeBolt; attorneys for Rand
'∎ Building making certain demands on the Village for
sums totaling Corp.; $37,569.12. The Clerk was instructed to
place the letter on file.
A letter dated February 26, 1953, from the
Sanitary District of Chicago, regarding certain requested
variations in construction of intercepting sewers south
of Council Trail, was then read. The letter was referred
to the Judiciary Committee for their study and recommendations.

Village of Mt. Prospect
Gentlemen:
A few months ago I requested a rezoning of lots
15, 16, and 17 in Prospect -Manor Subdivision from its
present classification of residential to its former
classification of business property. At that time I
did not understand that I would have to appear before
the Board on this request.
I am at this time requesting that you change the
property described as Lots, Fifteen, Sixteen, and
Seventeen in Block Twenty Two, also lots 1 to '6
Block 21, in Prospect Manor, being a Subdivision of
part of the South Three Quarters of the West Half
of the West Half of Section 34 Town 42 Range 11 East
of the 3rd Principle Meridian in Mt. Prospect., from
its present classification of Residential to its
former status as Business property.
Your cooperation will be greatly apreciated on
this matter.

P.S. Enclosed you will find my check for $35.00 as
per instructions of Mr. Frank Opeka.
A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by
Ibbotson, to refer the request to the Zoning Commission for
their study and recommendations. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Bayne, to authorize the purchase of Sandborn maps of the
Village for a sum not to exceed one hundred and fifteen
dollars. ($115.00) The President put the question and the
Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
The motion was then made by Trustee Lange, seconded
by Lams, that a Special Meeting be called for Monday March 16th
at 8:00 P.M. to receive bids on Contract No. 1 - Water Works
Improvements for 1953, and to conduct any other business
that may come before the meeting. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.

There being no further business to come before
the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Bayne, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned. •
