HomeMy WebLinkAbout03/10/1953 VB minutes MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF • TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS TUESDAY, MARCH 10, 1953 The meeting was called to order by President Pendleton at 8:15 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present:" Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, and Wilson. Trustee Viger was absent at roll call. The Clerk then read the minutes of a regular meeting held March 3rd. A motion was made by Trustee Lams seconded by Ibbotson, that the minutes be approved as read. - The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. Trustee Viger arrived and took his place at 8:25 P.M. The Treasurer's Report for the period ending February 28th was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lams, that the report be approved and placed on file. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Ibbotson, that the Special Assessment Report be approved and placed on file. A motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Wilson, that the bills as approved by the Finance Committee with the exception of the eight hundred sixty dollars and twenty -five cents ($860.25) for the Vern Smith Electric Company, be approved for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 372 entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING WATER OPERATED AIR CONDITIONER UNITS." A motion was made by Trustee Bayne, seconded by Lange, that the Ordinance be passed. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Bayne, Ibbotson, Lams, Lange, and Viger. Nays: Trustee Wilson. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance passed and approved. The Clerk then read the following communication: March 10, 1953 Village Board of Trustees Mount Prospect, I11 Gentlemen: With regard to the matter of application for rezoning the northwest corner of Elmhurst Road and Golf Road from residential to business, your Zoning Commission voted 3 to 2 in favor of retaining the present residential status of this property. Falkanger, Chairman Zoning Commission March 10, 1953 t J 2 A motion was then made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by Bayne, to concur in the recommendation of the Zoning Commission. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. The Clerk then read a letter dated March 10th from the Santucci Construction Company regarding the use of open cut for the sewer construction along Weller Creek between 1lmhurst Road and See Gwun Avenue. jhis letter was referred to the Judiciary Committee for their study. A motion was then made by Trustee Lams, seconded by Lange, to authorize the taking of a Special Census as outlined in the Bureau of Census' letter, February 12th, 1953, providing for the initial payment of five hundred and eighty -eight dollars to the treasury of the United States as requested, and that the Village President be authorized to sign the formal agreement for the Census. The President put the question -and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Ibbotson, that with the final payment of Check No. 10594, in the amount of twenty seven hundred seventy eight dollars and forty -six cents ($2778.46.) to S.B. Geiger and Company the Board of Trustees accepts No. 4 Well, subject to the guarantee contained in the contract. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Lams, that the five dollar water deposit be refunded to qualified consumers as listed by Water Rate Collector. The President put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried. There being no further business to come before the meeting a motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Lams, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
