August 04, 2010 Page 2 of 3 1�1 MOUNT PROSPECT YOUTH COMMISSION MINUTES OLD BUSINESS YOUTH VIEW Adult Advisor George Clowes advised the June Youth View taping, with former Youth Commission members Alyssa Hillman and Steve Long discussing their college issues, changes from high school, etc., was taped on Z- Z- Z- Z- Z- June 23, 2010 for broadcast during July on Channel 35. Previous Youth View Programs can also be viewed on the Youth Commission websitc. Adult Advisor George Clowes to do interviews with display board at the next Village event. Z- Z- VILLAGE COMMISSION / ORGANIZATION MEETINGS Calendar for Village Commission and/or organization meetings to be brought in at September meeting for Z- Z- Z- Z- Z- members to sign up to attend and report youth related issues to the committee. Z- FOOD PURCHASE ROTATION Delanie Steinweg volunteered for the food purchase for the September meeting Z-1 NEW BUSINESS MOUNT PROSPECT FARMER'S MARKET — "PROJECT HUNGER" Adult Advisor Steven Polit discussed his participation in "Project Hunger" at the Mount Prospect Farmer's Market. At the end of the Farmer's Market on Sundays, he collects the discarded fruit and vegetables from the vendors for distribution to residents through the Community Connection Center. Interested members were welcomed to assist with this project as well as set up a Youth Commission booth to talk to area youth. Chairman Pro Tern Nora Gawlik to email youth members to organize Youth Commission participation on Sundays at the Farmer's Market. YOUTH COMMITTION SPECIAL MEETING Youth Commission members decided to cancel special meeting for August 18, 201 Z- Z- OTHER BUSINESS NATIONAL NIGHT OUT Officer Alison Teevan discussed this year's National Night Out event on Tuesday, August 03, 2010 at River Trails Park District. MOTION TO ADJOURN Adam Kiel, seconded by Delanic Steinwe-, moved to adjourn the August 04, 2010 inectin-1 Motion carried by unanimous approval.
