MINUTES OF A REGTTLAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN TEE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, OCTOBER 1 3, 1953.
The meeting was called to order by President
Lams at 8:10 P.M. and the Clerk was directed to call the
roll. On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present:"
Coutts, Ibbotson, Lange, Wilson, and Viger. Trustee
Hinrichs was absent.
The Clerk then read the minutes of October 6th.
A motion was made by Trustee Coutts, seconded by Lange,
that the minutes be approved as read. The President put
the question and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
The Treasurer's Report for the period ending
September 30th, 1953 was then read. A motion was made by.
Trustee Wilson, seconded by Ibbotson, that the Report be
approved and placed on file. The President put the question
and the Clerk called the roll with the following results:
Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
The motion was then made by Trustee Wilson,
seconded by Coutts, that the bills for the month of
September as approved by the Finance Committee be approved
for payment. The President put the question and the Clerk
called the roll with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by
Ibbotson, that the Special flssessments Report be approved
and placed on file. The motion was voted upon by acclama-
tion, whereupon the President declared the motion carried.

The Clerk then read Ordinance No. 384: "AN 3
ORDINANCE ANNEXING CERTAIN LANDS TO TEE VILLAGE OF
MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS."
The motion was then made by Trustee Coutts,
seconded by Lange, that tie Ordinance be passed. Tre
President put the question, and tte Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Coutts, Ibbotson,
Lange, Viger, and Wilson. Nays: None. Absent: Trustee
rinrichs. Thereupon the President declared the motion carried
and the Ordinance passed and approved.
The motion was then made by Trustee Coutts, seconded
by Lange, to rescind the action taken on September 15, 1953
approving the Frank Serafine Subdivision Plat. The President
put the question and the Clerk called the roll with the
following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Coutts, seconded
by Wilson, to approve tr e entire plat of the Frank berafine
Subdivision as submitted, and that the President and Village
Clerk be authorized to sign the Plat. The President put the
question and the Clerk called the roll with the following
results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
• declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read Ordinance No 385, entitled:
"AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ThE VILLAGE OF IVOT?NT PROSPECT ZONING
t- ORDINANCE AS AMENDED." A motion was made by Trustee Coutts,
seconded by Lange, that the Ordinance be passed. The Presi-
F dent put the question and the Clerk called the roll with
the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance
passed and approved.
The following petition was then read:

To the Honorable, the President and
pw Board of Trustees of the Village of
Mt. Prospect, Illinois
Gentlerren:
We, the undersigned, being the owners of the follow-
ing described real estate, situated in the Village of
Mount Prospec, County of Cook, in the State of Illinois,
to -wit:
Lots 22 and 23 in Block 20 in Mount Prospect,
being a subdivision in Section 12, Township 41
North, Range 11 East of the Third Principal Meridian
in Cook County, Illinois.
hereby apply to your honorable Body for a change in
zoning classification frorr its present classification
of R2 (residence) to B (Business).
Application fee of $35.00 is enclosed herewith.

The motion was made by Trustee Coutts, seconded b
Viger that the petition be referred to the Zoning Commission.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
Ordinance No. 386, entitled: "AN ORDINANCE RELATING
TO TRAFFIC" was then read. A motion was made by Trustee
Coutts, seconded by Lange, that the Ordinance be passed.
The Oresident put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried and the Ordinance
passed and approved.

368 A motion was made by Trustee Coutts, seconded by
Lange, tlat the Village Clerk be instructed to send a letter
of thanks to the P'1ount Prospect Lions Club for their gift
of seventy -five hundred dollars ($7500) for a shelter house
to be erected in the Lions Memorial Park. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Wilson, seconded
by Viger, to the purchase of two sets of maps of
Mount Prospect, from Sidwell Studios, West ' for
a sum not to exceed one hundred dollars ($100.00) The
President put the question and the Clerk called the roll
with the following results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. "44
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Lange, to autYorize the Village Attorney to prepare an
Ordinance changing the Village Board Meeting nights to
the first and the third Tuesdays of each month, instead
of the first and second Tuesdays. the motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the
motion carried.
The motion was then made by Trustee Lange, seconded
by Coutts, authorizing the Public Service Company to install
Street Lights at the following locations:

The President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following results: Ayes: Trustees Coutts,
Langs, and Wilson. Nay: Trustee Ibbotson: Absent: Trustees
Hinrichs and Viger. President Lams then voted Aye, and
declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Ibbotson, that in accordance with the amended Water
Ordinance the 35.00 water deposit be refunded to qualified
consumers as listed by Water Rate Collector, October 13, 1953.
The President put the question and the Clerk called the
roll with the following results:. Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read a letter dated October 13,
1953-from the Sanitary District of Chicago regarding the
completion of the work on the Upper DesPlaines Intercepting
Sewer, Contract No. 11B. This letter was placed on file.
There being no further business to come before
the Board, a motion was made by Trustee Ibbotson, seconded
by Wilson, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
