MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AP D BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLIN!)TS
ON TUESDAY, MAY 1R, 1954
The meeting was called to order by President Lams
at 8 :20 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll.
On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present ": Coutts,
Finrichs, Ibbotson, Lange and Viger. Trustee Wilson was absent.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the meeting held
May 4, 1954. A motion was then made by Trustee Lange, seconded
by Coutts, that the minutes be approved as read. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereunon the President declared
the motion carried.
The Clerk then read Resolution ra. 6 -54, covering
Contract Supplement No. 1, on Contract No. 1, 1953 Water Works
Improvements.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Lange, that the resolution be adopted. The President put
the question, the Clerk called the roll with the following
response: Ayes: All; Na s: None. Thereupon the President declared
the motion carried and said resolution adopted,
A motion was then made by Trustee Coutts, seconded by
Viler, that the bills for the month of Nay, as approved by the
Finance Committee, be approved for payment. The President put
the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Na .gone. Thereupon the President declared
tn.e motion carried.
A motion was then glade by Trustee Coutts, seconded
by Lange, that the 1954 -55 Village payroll, dated April 30, 1954,
be approved as recomme ;ded by The Finance Committee. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll with the following
response: Ayes: till; -ays: Nore. Thereupon the President declared May 18, 1954
the motion carried.

The Clerk then read the Mount Prospect Library
Board. Report for the year of 1953-54 and the proposed
budget for the year 1954-55.
A motion was then made by Trustee Coutts,
seconded by Viger that the report be accepted and placed
on file, and that the proposed budget be approved and
included in the Villae Appropriation Ordinance. The
President put the question, the Clerk called the roll
th the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon. tue Fresident declared the motion carried.
The annual Appropriation Ordinance for period
Pay 1, 1954 to April 30, 1955, was then 7esented. to the
'1 Clerk.

The Clerk then read Ordinance fn. 03 entitled

ZONING CHD7TACE, A. DET)," A motion was tnen Yea de
by Trustee Hinrchs, seconded. by Lange to concur In the
recoT-endations of the Zcning Commission and that this
Ordinance be passed. The President put the question,
the Clerk called the roll witii the followin results;

A notion was then made by `rustee Hinrichs, seconded
by Ibbotson to approve the plans submitted by Consoer,
Townsend & Assoc. on the date of :gip: it 23, for Harold r elsor.,
covering sewer, water mains, pavement, curb and g ztter,
sidewalk and drainage appurtenances in South Pine Street,
subject to a satisfactory escrow account and payment to the
Vi i1age of the 1% fe , as per ordinance. Tne motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
ZR+ckMA A motion was made by trustee Hinrichs, seconded
by Vigor to approve the plars and specifications submitted
by Consoer, Townsend €c Assoc. on the date of April 1 1954,
for Mr. Josephrickman, covering construction of sewers,
water mains and pavement, to serve the property along Forest
Ave. from Gregory to Highland, subject to (1) The establishment
of an escrow account, or suitable perfrrmance bond being
submitted (2) Subject to public easement bein provided at
the rear of the property and (3) Subject to 1% fee being paid
to the Villa.;e, as per ordinance. The motion was voted upon
by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was then made by irustee Isinricns, seconded
by Vigor, that the Sanitary District of Chicago permits, for
sewerage system, Po. 195L -1 +4 and 1954 -446 be approved and that
the President and Village Clerk be authorized to sign these
permits, on behalf of the Villa „e. The motion was voted upon
by acclanati whereupon the Pres dent declared the ;,lotion
carried.
The Clerk then read a letter dated May 1 3, from the
Village Engineers regarding certain proposed cnanges in
connection with the traffic signals at Yain Street and Central
Road under T_`iFT Section 6 -CS. This matter was referred to
Committee for their study.
A motion was then made by 'Trustee Hinrichs, seconded
by Coutts, to extend the time for voluntary installations of
sidewalks to September 1, 1 954 and to defer Special Assessment
proceedings from July 1, 195h to September 1, 1954. . The mofion
was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President decl -..red
the motion carried.
