MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOAR r% OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MUNICTPiL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON TUESDAY, JUNE 15, 1954.
The meeting was called to order by President Lams
at 8 :15 P.M. and the Clerk was tnen directed to call the roll.
On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present ": Ibbotson,
Large, Viger, and Yilson. Trustees Coutts and Hinricns were
absent.
The Clerk then read the minutes of the meeting
held June 1, 1954. A motion was then made by Trustee Ibbotson,
seconded by Lange, that the minutes be approved as read. The
President put the question, the Clerk called the roll with
the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: hone. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read the Treasurer's Report for the
period ending ray 31, 1954. A motion was then made by Trustee
Lange, seconded by Ibbotson, that the report be approved and
placed on file. The President put the question, the Clerk
called the roll, with tne following; response: Ayes: All; Nays:
None. Thereupon the President decl-red the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by
Viger, that the bills for the month of May, as approved by the
Finance Coiimittee, be approved for payment. The President put
the question, the Clerk called tne roll with the following
results: Ayes: X11; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Vier, seconded by
Lange, that the Special Assessment Report be approved and placed
on file. T'ne motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon
tne President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson, that in accordance with the ammended water ordinance,
the ;5.00 Water Deposit be refunded to qualified consumers as
listed by Water Rate Collector on June 15, and that disposition June 15, 1954
of the refunds be made as recomr ended by the Water Rate
Collector. The President put the question, the Clerk called the
roll, with the following response: Na

None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Lange, that the two low bids; for the drilling of the
proposed No. 5 Well; which were submitted by J.P. , "iller
Artesian Well Co. and S. B. Geiger & Co., be placed on file
for public inspection and that an award be made at the next
Board Meeting for the drilling of the Well. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Lange, that a special meeting be held at 8:00 P.M. on
Friday, June 25 to award the contract for drilling do. 5
Well and to take care of any other matters that may lawfully
come before the Board. The rrotion was voted upon by
acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson, authorizing the Village Clerk to return the
certified check that accompanied the ?'ilaeger Well Drilling
Company's bid and the bid bonds that accompanied the bids
of the Lane Western Co. and L. Cliff Neely, who were the
three high bidders on the proposed No. 5 Well. The motion
t- was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President de-
clared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Ibbotson,
seconded by Lann;e, that a refund of ,x550.00 be made to $t.
Raymonds Catholic Church for the school building permit fee,
as is customary in such cases. The President put the
question, the Clerk called the roll with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Lange, to approve the final plat of Unit No. 1, we -Go Park
Subdivision, subject to the receipt of approved plans and
specifications from the Village Engineers for public
improvements and subject to other requirements, as required
by ordinance. The President put the question, the Clerk
culled the roll, with the following response: Ayes: Trustees
Lange, Viger and 'Nilson. Nay: Trustee Ibbotson. Absent:
i'r1astees Coutts and Hinrichs, President Lams then voted
Aye and declared tie motion carried.
Summ -ns No. 5408108 Circuit Court of Cook County
was then read. A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded
by Wilson, authorizing° the Village Attorney to file an
appearance and answer on behalf of the Village. The
President put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with
the following response: Ayes: All; Trays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read a request from Yrs. Ralph C.
Denton of Glenview, Ill., regarding permission to tag on
"Have a Heart Day", September 14, 195)4. A motion was then
made by Trustee nan ge, seconded by Wilson, that inasmuch as
tis tag day is not on the official list, which was approved
by the Board, that the request be denied. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson, that in accordance with recommendations of the
Village Engineers, that Partial Payment No. 8, in the a -count
of 0,719.)m on Contract No. 2, 1953 Water Works I:nprove-
ments be man to Keno Construction Company. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll with the
following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded
June 15, 1954 by Wilson, to authorize the Village Attorney to appeal the
decision in the case of Langguth vs the Village of Yount
Presoect. The President put the question, the Clerk called

Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read a letter under date of Tune 14,
from the Village Engineers recommending the release of funds
in the amount of -;28,672.47 by Alfini Construction Company
to Milburn Brothers, Inc., for paving improvements done to
date in the Alfini Subdivision. A motion was then made by
Trustee Viger, seconded by Lange to concur in the recommendations
of the Village Engineers. The President put the question,
the Clerk called the roll with the following response: Ayes:

carried.
The Clerk then read a letter under date of June 14,
from the Village Engineers, regarding the paving in the Alfini
First Addition to Mount Prospect. A motion was made by Trustee
Lange, seconded by Vigor, to concur in the recommendations of
tne Village Engineers regarding this paving. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared
the motion carried.
A letter under date of June 15, from the Village
Engineers , regarding rearding the paving in Milburn Ave., East of the
J
Alfini Subdivision was then read. This letter was referred to
Committee for a report at the special r- eeting, June 25.
The Clerk then read a letter under date of May 13,
1954, from the Village Engineers, regarding a discussion
between Mr. an Serafine of Serafine Builders, Inc. and Mr.
Gilliam W. Townsend of Consoer, Townsend and Assoc., in connect-
ion with the construction of paving improvements in North Elm
Street between Henry and `layer. This letter was placed on
file.
The Clerk then read letters under date of June 1 and
June 7 from the Department of Public Works and Buildings,
Division of Hignways, regarding the supplemental resolution
:end agreement for Section 5 -CS. This correspondence was placed
on file.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson to authorize the Village Engineers to prepare Plans
and Specifications for Arthur T. McIntosh & Co., covering the
extension of water mains in Gregory Street from Oak to Forest
and from the intersection of Oak and Isabella to Forest Avenue.
The motion was voted upon by acclamation, whereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by Lange,
that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion carried,
and the meeting regularly adjourned.
