MINUTES OF A P ,CIiL MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TR_- STEES, HELD IN THE MUNICIPAL
BLJILDINr, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS
ON FRIDAY, JUNE 25, 1954.
The meeting was called to order by President Lams at
8 :15 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll, On
roll call the following Trustees answered "Present Coutts,
Hinrichs, Ibbotson, Lange, Viger and Wilson.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson, that the contract for drilling of No. 5 Well be awarded
to the low bidder, S. B. Geiger & Company and the President and
Village Clerk be authorized to execute the contract on behalf of
the Village. The President put the question, the Clerk called the June 25, 1954
roll with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
Summons No. 540545, 5, Circuit Court of Cook County
was then read. A motion was then made by Trustee Hinrichs,
seconded by Viger, that the Village Attorney be authorized
to file an appearance and answer. The President put the
question, the Clerk called the roll with the following
results: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read the following petition.

To the President and Trustees
of the Village Board of
Mount Prospect
Mount Prospect, Illinois
Gentlemen:
On behalf of Fred Maier, owner of the hereinafter described
property, I desire to make application to have said property
regoned in its present classification of R -1 to B.
Lo* 11 in Block 4 in Lonnquist Gardens, being a
subdivision of part of the North East quarter of
Section 14, Township 41 North, Range 11, Last of
the Third Principal Peridian in Cook County,
Illinois, according to the plat thereof recorded
November 20, 1945 as Document 13663132 in Book
356 of Plats, Page 5.
At the same time I desire to indicate that ;rr. Maier is
prepared to dedicate the western portion of said lot to the
Village as a pue lic playground, at the same time serving as
a buffer for the residential area.
I herewith enclose my check in the amount of y 35.00 and
would appreciate it if you would give this matter your
early attention.

A motion was then made by Trustee Hinrichs,
seconded by Viger, that this petition be referred to the
Zoning Commission for the holding of a public hearing and
recommendations. The motion was voted upon by acclamation,
whereupon the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was then made by rustee Lange, seconded
by Hinrichs, that the Village contribute an amount, not to
exceed 400.00 towards the paving of one -half block of
ilburn atreet, immediately West of Wa- Pella. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll with the follow-
ing results: Ayes: Trustees Coutts, Hinrichs, Lange & Wilson.
Nay: Trustee Ibbotson. Trustee Viger Passed. Thereupon the
President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Coutts, seconded by
Lange, that the sum of - ;10,09.89, be paid the National
Power Rodding Company for work done in cleaning sewers.
The President put the question, the Clerk called the roll
with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. There-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
The Clerk then read bids on a new police car as
follows: (1) Harry Knaack Motor Sales, Inc. - Net cost to
the Village - e (2) Busse Motor ,ales, Inc. -
Net cost to the Village - 01,250.38.
A motion was then made by Trustee Lange, seconded
by Coutts that a new police car be purchased from the Busse
"otor ales, Inc., for the sum of N1,250.3e, as quoted in
their letter of June 1, 1954. The President put the question
the Clerk called the roll with the following respone : Ayes:
Trustees Coutts, Hinrichs, Lan and vier. i!ay: Trustee
Ibbotson. ',trustee T passed. 'Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.

A motion was then made by Trustee Coutts, seconded
by Lange, to authorize the purchase of a Wood's Multipurpose

Park tower for a sum, not to exceed ;525.00. The President
tne question, the Clerk called the roll witrn tne following
response: Ades: All; i s: 1.one. `hereu -;or: the President
declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Coutts, seconded by
hinricns, that the petition requesting the naming of the Park
at the Sha -Bonee - Hi -fusi - Go- Tr!Jnda intersection the
"Ben. Ti. Kells Memorial Park ", be denied. The motion was
voted upon by acclamation, with. Trustee Wilson passing, where-
upon the President declared the motion carried.
The following communication was then read:

Mr. Albert Schack
Fuilding Commissioner
Mount Prospect, Ill.
Dear Sir:
I wish to request a permit to move my real estate office
located at 200 S. Main Street within the property lines to the
South end of my property.
This move will be only temporary for a period or not
more than one year, at which time I will either remove or
demolish the building and build a new one.

A motion was then made by Trustee Ibboston, seconded
by Viger, that this request be granted. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation, whereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
There being no further business to come before the
meeting, a motion was made by Trustee Lange, seconded by Viger,
that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted upon by
acclamation, whereupon the President declared tne motion
carried, and the meeting regularly adjourned.
