MINUTES OF AN ADJOURNED MEETING
OF THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF
TRUSTEES, HELD IN THE MDBICIPAL
BUILDING, MOUNT PROSPECT, ILLINOIS,
ON TUESDAY, APRIL 26, 1955
The meeting was called to order by President Lams
at 8 :45 P.M. and the Clerk was then directed to call the roll.
On roll call the following Trustees answered "Present
Ibbotson, Schlaver, Viger and Willer. Trustees Wilson and
Wright were absent on roil call.
The President then called for the awarding of coa-
l:: tracts on bids which were submitted on Contracts 2, 3, and 4
for 1954 Water Works Improvements and which were filed for
public inspection on April 5, 1955, in the Clerk's office.
Trustee Viger then presented the recommendations of
the Village Ehgineers regarding the awarding of these
contracts. After complete explanation by Mr. Lewis of
Consoer, Townsend and Associates and complete discussion, a
motion was made by Trustee Vigor, seconded by Willer, that
Contract No. 2 be awarded to John Erskine Company in the
amount of $144,696.00. The President put the question, the
Clerk called the roll, with the following response: Ayes: All;
Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Schlaver, that Contract No. 3 be awarded to Chicago Bridge and
Iron Company for the 750,000 gallon storage tank, this contract
in the amount of $179,200.00. The President put the question,
the Clerk called the roll, with the following response: Ayes:
All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was then made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Ibbotson, that inasmuch as Contract No. 4 would not be let at
this time. the certified checks submitted with bids on Con -
tract No. 4 to be returned to the Orfei Construction Company,
Bon Car Construction Company, Chas. M. Porter Company, and
Santucci Construction Company. Also, that Cassidy Incorp-
orated be offered the opportunity of submitting a bid bond to
replace their certified check in the amount of $1,650.00,
inasmuch as they were low bidder on Contract No. 4 and their
bid can be held open for sixty days. The President put the
question, the Clerk called the roll, with the following
response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Trustee Willer then read a letter under date of
April 16, 1955, from Brickman Home Builders concerning the
type of streets which they propose to build in Randview High-
lands and Castle Heights. A motion was then made by Trustee

��� Filler, seconded by Schlaver, that the construction
tlined in Mr. Brickman's;: °letter be approved. The
President put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with
the following response:` Ayes; ; Nays: None. Thereupon
the President declared the motion carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Willer, seconded by
Viger, that the Village Treasurer be authorized to cancel
Mr. Moehling's note dated March 15, 1955, for $1,500.00 as
Mr. Moehling's personal check has been received for this
amount. The President put the question, the Clerk called
the roll, with the following response: Ayes: All; Nays: None.
Thereupon the President declared the motion carried.
Summonses No. 55C54.92 Circuit Court of Cook County,
and Numbers 5534980 aid 55S54.?9, Superior Court of Cook
County, were then read. A motion was made by Trustee Willer,
seconded by Schlaver, that the Village Attorney be authorized
to file an appearance and answer in these cases. The President
put the question, the Clerk called the roll, with the follow -
ing response: Ayes: All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President
declared the motion carried.
Trustee Wilson arrived and took his place at 10 :50
P.M.
A motion was made by Trustee Wilson, seconded by
Schlaver, to sax thorize expenditure of a sum not to exceed
$100.00 to the Pittsburgh Pipe Cleaning Company for the
cleaning of the sewer choke and some other proposed sewers
in Northwest Meadows. The President put the question, the
Clerk called the roll, with the following response: Ayes:
All; Nays: None. Thereupon the President declared the motion
carried.
A motion was made by Trustee Viger, seconded by
Wilson, that the meeting be adjourned. The motion was voted
upon by acclamation whereupon the President declared the
motion carried and the meeting regularly adjourned.
