WHEREAS, a regular election was held on Tuesday, April 19th, 1949, in the Village of Mount Prospect for the purpose of electing a Village President, a Village Clerk, a rolice Magis- trate, three Village Trustees and two Directors of the eublic Library; and at said election, two propositions were submitted to the voters of said Village; and WHEREAS. the President and Board of Trustees, as by statute in such case wade and provided, have canvassed the votes cast at such election, find as follows: FOR ELECTION OF VILLAGE OFFICERS: Total votes cast 1459 votes Spoiled ballots None Defective ballots 3 (1) FOR VILLAGE PRESIDENT: Maurice b. Pendleton received 1154 votes Alfred Wolfarth received 275 it FOR VILLAGE CLERK: Robert F. Milligan received 1080 votes John P. Thill received 340 " FOR POLICE MAGISTRATE: Ralph E. Gould received 1195 votes FOR VILLAGE TRUSTEES (3 to be elected) Russell A. Hartwig received 879 votes Theodore A. Lams received 981 Rudolph A. Stoelk received 814 " Alvin C. Hedke received 260 " hobert Runo received 198 " Frank A. Sullivan received 242 " Ronald M. Coutts received 297 " Gilbert 1. Liebenow received 299 " Drew Wacker received 313 " -2- FOR MOUNT PROSPECT PUBLIC LIBRARY DIRECTORS (2 to be elected) Dorothy Kester received 712 votes George E. Votava received 676 " (a) and that on the proposition: Shall the Village of Mount Prospect Cook County, Illinois, adopt An Act to provide for the setting apart, formation and disbursement of a police pension fund in cities, villages and incorporated towns having a population of not more than 200,000 inhabitants", approved June 14, 1909, as amended? Total votes cast 1459 Ballots cast YES 1098 Ballots cast No 352 Defective Ballots 9 (3) and that on the proposition: Shall the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, establish, maintain and conduct a supervised playground and recreation system and levy annual tax of not less than .0257o on all taxable property in the Village of Mount Prospect for the es- tablishment, maintenance and conduct thereof, as provided for in Article 57 -7 of the Cities and Villages Act? Total votes cast 1459 Ballots cast YES 1011 Ballots cast NO 364 Defective Ballots 27 Ballots not voted 57 and are ready to declare the results thereof, NOW, THEREFORE: BE IT RESOLVED BY THE PRESIDENT AND BOARD OF TRUSTEES OF THE VILLAGE OF MOUNT PROSPECT, COOK COUNTY, ILLINOIS: SECTION 1. That MAURICE B. PENDLETON having received the highest number of votes cast, be and he is hereby declared duly elected to the office of Village President of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, to serve the full term of four (4) years, as is by law provided. -3- SECTION 2. That ROBERT F. MILLIGAN having received the highest number of votes cast, be and he is hereby declared duly elected to the office of Village Clerk of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, to serve the full term of four (4) years, as is by law provided. SECTION 3. That RALPH E. GOULD having received the highest number of votes cast, be and he is hereby declared duly elected to the office of Police "lagistrate of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, to serve the full term of four (4) years, as is by law provided. SECTION 4. That RUSSELL A. HARTWIG and THEODORE A. LAMS and RUDOLPH A. STOELK having received the highest number of votes 'I cast, be and they are hereby declared duly elected to the office of Village Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, Illinois, to serve for the full term of four (4) years, as is by law pro- vided. ir SECTION 5. That DOROTHY KESTER and GEORGE E. VOTAVA having received the highest number of votes cast, be and they are hereby declared to be Directors of the Mount Prospect, Public Library for the full term, as is by law provided. SECTION 6. That the proposition: Shall the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, adopt "An Act to provide for the setting apart, formation and disbursement of a police pension fund in cities, villages and incorporated towns hav- ing a population of not more than 200,000 inhabitants", approved June 14, 1909, as amended? having received a majority of all the votes cast on said propo- sition, the said proposition be and the same is hereby declared to be carried and the proposition adopted. SECTION 7. That the proposition: -4- Shall the Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois, establish, maintain and conduct a supervised playground and recreation system and levy an annual tax of not less than .025* on all taxable property in the Village of Mount Prospect for the establishment, maintenance and conduct thereof, as provided for in Article 57-7 of the Cities and Villages Act? having received a majority of all the votes cast on said propo- sition, the said proposition be and the same is hereby declared to be carried and said proposition adopted. SECTION 8. lhat the said MAURICE B. PENDLETON, Village President; ROBERT F. MILLIGAN, Village Clerk; RALPH E. GOULD, Police Magistrate; RUSSELL A. HARTWIG and THEODORE A. LAMS and RUDOLPH A. STOELK, Village Trustees; DOROTHY KESTER and GEORGE E. VOTAVA, Directors of the Mount Prospect i Library; be installed into office and enter upon their duties uponWalifying, as is by law provided. SECTION 9. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect from and after its passage and approval. PASSED: this 19th day of April, A.D. 1949. .kPPROVED: this 19th day of April, A.D. 1949.
