HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 05-54 05/04/1954 RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the Village of Mt. Prospect has undertaken the construction of the 1953 Water Works Improvements, and has on the 20th day of June, 1953, entered into a contract with Keno Construction Company, Inc., for the construction thereof, and WHEREAS, a part of said improvements is an altitude valve chamber near the base of the elevated tank located at Busse Street and Northwest Highway, and WHEREAS, the Contract Drawings provide for a crushed stone French drain beneath said chamber to carry away waste water discharged by the altitude valve, and WHEREAS, when said chamber and French drain were constructed it was found that the soil contained a water bearing stratum, rendering the drain ineffective and the altitude valve inoperable, and WHEREAS, Keno Construction Co., Inc. , has proposed to construct a drain to the street sewer, complete in place, including backwater protection, pavement removal and replacement, all in accordance with the recommendations of the Water Superintendent, for the lump sum price of $873.40, and WHEREAS, Consoer, Townsend and Associates have given their opinion that said drain is the only satisfactory recourse to make the altitude valve operable, and that the proposal of the Contractor is reasonable, now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, by the President and Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect, that Contract Supplement No. 3, providing for a net addition to the Contract Price of $873.40 be and is hereby authorized, and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the President and Clerk be authorized and are hereby directed to sign the same on behalf of the Village. 5 \
