RESOLUTION NO. ~ - 5b
RESOLUTION TO FORECLOSE THE
LIEN OF SPECIAL ASSESSMENTS

WHEREAS, Ordinances have heretofore been adopted providing
for the construction of certain local improvements within the Village of
Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, special assessments were levied to pay the cost of
said work, and pursuant to the Statute applicable thereto, said improve-
ments were constructed and the report of cost and completion was
approved in manner and form provided by law; and
WHEREAS, the certain installments of said special assessments
levied against individual lots and parcels of land have not been paid and
are now past due and delinquent; and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees find that it
will be for the best interests of the Village that said special assessment
liens be foreclosed; NOW, THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED by the President and Board of Trustees of the
Village of Mount Prospect, Cook County, Illinois:
SECTION 1. That the special assessment liens against the following
described real estate, to-wit:
Lot 9 in Block 4 in Meier's Addition to Mount
Prospect in the Northwest 1/4 of Section 12,
Town 41 North, Range 11, East of the Third
Principal Meridian in Cook County, Illinois
be foreclosed.
SECTION 2. That the Attorney for the Village of Mount Prospect
be and he is hereby authorized and directed to prosecute said foreclosure
suit as he may deem best, and to cooperate with the State's Attorney of
Cook County in procuring the foreclosure of the lien of general taxes of
said lots, if any there be, and with the officials of the Drainage District
in procuring the foreclosure of the lien of Drainage District benefit
special assessments on said lots, if any there be, and this Board requests
said State's Attorney and officials of the Drainage District to foreclose;
and that said Attorney for the Village is hereby authorized to file suit
for foreclosure or to join in any suit or suits to foreclose instituted by
the State's Attorney to foreclose the lien of general taxes and to take
such othe r steps as he deems proper to procure the prompt sale of said
property to satisfy said liens.
SECTION 3. All resolutions or parts of resolutions in conflict
herewith be and the same are hereby repealed.
SECTION 4. That this resolution shall be in full force and effect
from and after its adoption and approval.
