WHEREAS, the Metropolitan Sanitary District of Greater Chicago has
heretofore adopted a Resolution declaring the intention of the District to con-
struct a system of (bomhined sanitary relief sewers to serve the Village of
Mount Prospect, and
WHEREAS, a Public Hearing thereon was held on February 28, 1957, and
at said Hearing there was presented and read into the rec.ord a letter from
the President of the Northwest Meadows Association requesting that the District
include in said system an extension of the proposed Isabella Street sanitary
relief sewer from Forest Avenue to Davidson Avenue, and
WHEREAS, the President and Board of Trustees of the Village .of Mount
Prospect has received and accepted a Supplemental Report from its Engineers,
Cottsoer, Townsend & Associates, which Report presents a plan for a system
of combined sewers for the area known as Northwest Mead.ows and for the area
immediately west thereof known as Northwest Heights, the cost of such system
to be financed under the provisions of the Local Improvements $tatues or
otherwise, and
WHEREAS, no sewers now exist in Northwest Meadows, all homes therein
being dependent upon septic tanks for the disposal of sanitary wastes, and no
sewers now exist in Northwest Heights, both by reason of there being no satis-
factory outlet, and
WHEREAS, this Board of Trustees of the Village of Mount Prospect finds
that septic tanks are not a satisfactory method for disp.osing of sanitary wastes
within the Village, and finds them to be a potential hazard to the public health
and safety, and

Street combined relief sewer will permit the construction of lateral sewers
in Northwest Meadows and in Northwest Heights at a reasonable cost, and will
add a potential 150 sewer connectors to the sewer system, thus increasing the
potential annual revenue by approximately $4,050 now therefore
