HomeMy WebLinkAboutRes 25-58 11/25/1958 RES 0 L UTI 0 N NO. 25-58 BE IT RESOLVED that whereas there has been heretofore annexed to the Village of Mt. Prospect and zoned "B-1", the property consisting of approximately sixty acres bounded by Centra1,Rand and Westgate Roads, and WH&~S a modern regional shopping center is to be constructed on said premises which will be of benefit to the people of the Village of Mount Prospect and it is the desire of the Village Board to aid in all proper respects and development thereof, and ~~EREAS it is necessaFJ to the successful operation of said regional shopping center that certain tenants therein have the right to sell and dispense alcoholic beverages, and \^JHEREAS David Bermant, the developer of said shopping center has advised this Board that he is presently negotiating leases with two prospect- ive tenants; Hillman's for the operation of a retail food store and 1rJalgreen's for the operation of a retail drug store, and that each of said tenants desire the right and license to sell packaged liquors in the pre~ises to be leased by them, NO..! THEREFORE , it is the sense and intention of this Board that the laws and ordinances of the Village of Ivrt. Prospect relating to the sale and despensing of alcoholic beverages be so enlarged, modified and changed so that if a regional shopping center is developed on said land, that there shall be available for the use of tenants in said shopping center, (provided said tenants, if corporations, are of good reputation and if individuals are residents of Nt. Prospect of good character), two licenses perr.itting the retail sale of packaged alcoholic beverages and one license available to the operator of a restaurant for the sale of alcoholic beverages on the premises; and that said licenses shall be available regardless of whether the licensees shall be individuals or corporations.
